Satou here. I once read in a book that when there are two people, conflict inevitably arises. If conflict cannot be avoided, I wish at least they would choose a way that doesn’t cause loss of life.

“Good evening, Your Majesty. The Royal Capital is quite noisy—did something happen?”
I had come to the Royal Castle late at night, dressed as Nameless.
“This is Lord Nameless, you’ve already noticed, haven’t you? It’s an embarrassing matter, but a rebellion has broken out in Duke Bistal’s territory—”
Ah, I had forgotten about that issue.
Now that I think about it, the attackers who targeted the airship were related to the Duke’s family, weren’t they?
According to His Majesty, right after the airship attack incident, they tried to contact Duke Bistal’s territory using an emergency communication magical artifact, but there was no response at all.
So, they asked nearby nobles to investigate, and it seems the Duke’s eldest son declared the establishment of the Duchy of Bistal and drove away the nobles sent for investigation beyond the territory.
It hasn’t even been several days, yet they acted swiftly.
Probably they used Bird Tribe members or flying-type tamed demons for the investigation.
Upon hearing this, Duke Bistal petitioned His Majesty for the deployment of the national army, and three knight brigades, who were supposed to be out on exercises, were dispatched.
The famous Third Knight Brigade, known for its godspeed marches, is set to depart tomorrow, followed by the Second and Sixth Brigades leaving the Royal Capital five days later.
It seems advance parties of Bird Tribe and wyvern riders have already left.
“Huh, that sounds serious.”
I gave a disinterested reply.
Sorry, but I have no intention of participating in human conflicts.
“In the season of the demon king, the human tribe fighting among themselves is due to my lack of virtue.”
Now that I think about it, there’s usually little human conflict at this time.
There are rumors of war breaking out in the western continent, and it seems humans in another world also like war.
His Majesty bowed deeply, apologizing for the mishap.
There’s no need to apologize to me, but since he mistakenly thinks I am the king ancestor, it can’t be helped.
Seeing a blue marker for the Prime Minister on the radar, I had His Majesty lift his head.

I received the analysis report on parts harvested from that slime from the Prime Minister.
It’s only been half a day, and the results are already out?
—The people at the Royal Research Institute are competent.
I skimmed through the documents.
According to the summary, the slime played two roles: concentrating the demonic enhancement potion and acting as a carrier.
However, as the director had said, although ordinary creatures that ate this slime might die from the concentrated demonic enhancement potion, the possibility of them transforming into monsters is low.
For demonstration experiments, slimes and underground rats were captured and made to prey on each other in a poison-ant style in the suburban experimental buildings of the institute.
During the experiments, a few Paladins are stationed there, so safety should be assured.
Along with the analysis report, there were interrogation records of the director and secretary, which I read out of curiosity.
…What’s this?
When the secretary said she had made a mistake with the documents, I was stunned at how sloppy it was, but apparently there’s more to it.
The Prime Minister supplemented information not written in the documents.
“It seems Demon King followers are behind the incident.”
The secretary’s lover, a knight, was connected to a similar group called “Wings of Freedom,” and out of greed for money, he manipulated the documents to smuggle demonic enhancement potions to that organization.
A considerable amount of the potion was taken out of the institute before disposal and ended up in the organization’s hands.
It’s highly likely that the source of the demonic enhancement potions found in the trading city came from those taken from the institute.
