Before entering the mansion, I made sure to use the water from the jar beside the entrance to wash my hands and shoes properly. After all, if I didn’t wash up properly, Lulu would get angry.
Inside the mansion, there was the delicious aroma of Mr. Hamburg!
Huh? Something’s strange.
“The smell is different.”
“Shichu~?”
“It’s rare for Lulu to change the menu on a whim.”
“Hmm.”
As I pattered inside the mansion, the head maid Mitelna greeted us.
Usually, Lulu would at least call out from the kitchen, “Welcome back, everyone,” but today it was quiet.
“Welcome home.”
“Report your return to Master.”
“Well, Viscount hasn’t come back from dinner yet.”
It feels lonely without Master here.
Viscount people are... you know.
“The meal is ready, so please proceed to the dining hall. Aina and Kitona, carry everyone’s belongings to the rooms.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Following Mitelna into the dining hall, there weren’t any dream bearers around.
“Huh~?”
“Mr. Hamburg isn’t here!”
Even after climbing on the chair and looking around, he really wasn’t there.
I got scolded by Liza for bad manners, but more importantly, I feel like something important is going on!
“Ah, since Lulu-san isn’t here, the menu has been changed from hamburgers to black meat stew. We can’t just take over the kitchen like we own it in the absence of the chef.”
Those cruel words from Mitelna pierced through my ears.

“Tamaaa”
Sharing despair with Tama, the black meat stew we ate was a little salty.
This story takes place after “10-25. Explorers (2).” It’s a short story I wrote before but had shelved.
