This is Satou. They say that misfortune often follows good fortune. The more things seem to be going well, the more you tend to overlook something. I believe those idle moments are exactly when you should double-check everything.

"Ah, Mr. Satou! Regarding Scarecrow Unit 7 that you entrusted to us, it successfully detected the jellyfish and notified the discovery via 'Morse' signals."

This was the report I received from Lady Lua when I returned from the Duke's Capital.

I had been delayed because I got involved in a minor commotion in Puta Town. It was definitely not because I was hanging out at a place with pretty ladies.

I had been experimenting myself up to Scarecrow No. 3, but Lady Lua suggested that it might be better to leave future operations to Ms. Jia. Since most of the experiments relied on her magic anyway, delegating to her wouldn’t really change the practical work.

Scarecrow Unit 7 looks like a beach ball with a float ring stacked on top. The float ring part is a mana accumulator (battery), and the beach ball part is the main body. Inside the main body is a power reactor based on the Philosopher’s Stone as its core. Excess magic power is stored in the accumulator. The accumulated magic power will be used for signal transmission when detecting enemies and for trajectory adjustments.

It seems the jellyfish detection is sufficient by installing an alarm linked with the scarecrow at the observation deck where Ms. Jia and her team are stationed. As for eradication itself, elves skilled in long-range magic will be stationed there to handle it.

After receiving the file with detailed experimental results from Lady Lua, I headed together to the treehouse.

"Master, you’re home!"

Pochi literally flew over at that moment.

"Look~! Look at this~?"

Tama was somersaulting in the air like she was dancing.

The two of them were dressed like fairies from a fairy tale. They had wings similar to feather spirits, fluttering them to fly. I could feel the flow of magic power in those wings, so they were either magical artifacts or enchanted by elves with flight magic. Pochi’s wings were transparent, like a dragonfly’s, and Tama’s were yellow, resembling butterfly wings.

Both of them flew around me striking poses and giving off a “praise me” aura, so I honestly complimented them.

“You’re both so cute. Just like fairies.”

"Hehe~"

"I'm so happy!"

Pochi gave off an even stronger “praise me” aura, so I showered her with compliments until she squirmed. Of course, I did the same for Tama.

Satisfied, the two flew over to me, each offering both hands to invite me to fly with them.

Since it was a rare chance, shall we take a stroll in the sky?

I rose with skystride in sync with their handholds. After telling Lady Lua I’d be going up first, the three of us danced through the air.

“Who made these cute outfits you’re wearing?”

“Arisa~”

“Arisa made them for us.”

So Arisa made them. Indeed, they didn’t look like typical elf ethnic costumes. Next time, I’ll make Pochi a short staff with a star ornament on top and for Tama one with a crescent moon. Tama seems to like cute things, so maybe a heart-shaped one would be better?

“Aze cast the magic on us.”

“Aze’s so great~”

“Oh? Did you properly thank her?”

“Yes!”

“Right!”

To thank Aarize for entertaining the two of them, I’ll make her a pudding à la mode. She looked so envious the last time I made one for Mia, so she’ll be happy.

“Your fairies, adorable Arisa-chan, appear!”

“Appear.”

Mumbling something half-asleep, Arisa and Mia flew out from the treehouse.

Unlike Pochi and Tama, these two wore sexy cute costumes that looked like sheer winged robes. If it were Nana or Lady Aarize, it might evoke some lewd feelings, but with Arisa and Mia, it didn’t. Of course, they wore normal underwear, so everything important was properly covered.

“How do you feel? Tonight, are you about to lose to temptation?”

“Not at all.”

We bathe together every day, so what’s the big deal seeing them semi-naked now? Since it’s bad for the kids’ upbringing, I flicked Arisa’s forehead to shut her up.
