This is not Satou’s perspective.
Today, for some reason, I’m posting two chapters in a row. Please also check out 8-15... orz

Seriously, what a farce.
Just because His Highness is attending, why do I have to do a mock battle with him?
Moreover, His Highness wields the Holy Sword Clausolas. It is said to embody the Shiga Kingdom itself—the “Invincible” sword.
There’s absolutely no way I can win.
Strictly speaking, the one who holds the Holy Sword Clausolas must never lose. Because that would evoke the image of the invincible Shiga Kingdom’s defeat.
Even if it’s just an illusion, defeat is not allowed.
Besides, even if I don’t try to lose on purpose, without magic His Highness should be slightly stronger.
There’s no winning unless I use my trump card. But if I do, I’ll definitely end up killing His Highness. That would be a disaster.
Ah, how depressing.

From the spectator seats, I hear cheers calling my name. There are cheers for His Highness as well, but maybe they’re just attracted to the title “Prince.”
I wear the Magical Armor Chaftal that I received when I became the hero’s attendant and carry the thunder greatsword I obtained while exploring the labyrinth. This armor grants the wearer the same effect as physical enhancement magic. If I channel magic power into my magic circuit, I can also activate a magic power shield or illusions to prevent sniping.
I step into the circle where the match is about to begin.
At the signal, I activate the magic power shield. Then, channeling magic power into the thunder greatsword, I activate the thunder blade.
Before stacking enhancement magic, I get a bad feeling and jump sideways to evade.
A firebolt pierces through the place where I was standing.
A Firebolt Wand?
That’s not a military weapon.
Just because you don’t have to chant a spell doesn’t mean it’s harmless, you know?
“Feels nostalgic, doesn’t it? You made this at the academy, after all.”
His Highness’s Holy Sword traces a blue arc as it attacks.
So fast.
The legend that the Holy Sword (Clausolas) wielder can fly might actually be true.
I deflect the Holy Sword’s trajectory with the greatsword.
Heavy. My wrist might get injured.
The thunder enveloping the greatsword’s blade disperses in the air without reaching the Holy Sword.
If the opponent’s weapon was an ordinary sword, that would have been enough to cause unconsciousness or paralysis.
As payback, I slam the greatsword into His Highness’s leg.
The greatsword is stopped by the defense barrier activated by the Holy Knight’s armor.
As expected, only the equipment of the strongest Holy Knight in the great nation can do that.
This time, I leave the defense against His Highness’s sword to the armor and focus on attacking.
Activate the heavy strike skill. Accuracy and precision drop, but power is what counts now.
Activate the demon blade skill. Normally I avoid it to save magic power, but I have no reason to conserve magic now.
The greatsword glows red.
Activate the sharp blade skill. I have no intention to kill His Highness, but I have to act as if I do; otherwise, I can’t break through that armor’s defense.
“Whirlwind Fierce Blade.”
I shout the technique’s name even though it’s unnecessary.
I guess I’ve been influenced by Hayato’s foolishness.
I thought it would be blocked, but it hits easily and destroys the defense barrier.
This is bad—if I don’t stop the blade now, I will win.
I somehow stop the blade before dealing a fatal blow to His Highness.
But His Highness doesn’t miss my unstable stance.
I’m bounced off the arena floor like a ball.

Cheers, screams, and jeers fill the air.
I must have lost consciousness for a moment.
The prince is rapidly firing firebolts in pursuit. Does he want to kill me?
Apparently, my stopping his sword earlier injured his swollen pride. His Highness’s eyes are bloodshot to an intimidating degree.
I stop the firebolts by exploding them with a quick burst chant.
But our fight ends here.
A summoning circle appears in the sky.
