Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Chapter 120: In the Dwarf Village 🏔️

Published: September 4, 2025

Satou here. Turmeric is amazing. If you take it beforehand, it’s hard to get a hangover, so whenever I was dragged along for business entertainment, I always made sure to drink it first.

The next morning, three little girls and one young girl were suffering from hangovers.

“Ugh, my head hurts. Ugh, I feel awful.”

“Nyu~”

“It hurts… so much.”

“Satou, medicine.”

Nana, who had been given medicine yesterday, was naturally fine, and Liza and Lulu also seemed okay.

Lulu was handing out water to everyone. When our eyes met, she blushed deeply and looked away. Although I’m not the kind of person to bring up embarrassing moments from the drinking party, she’s so cute that I decided to just let it be.

I gave everyone the same magic potion that Nana had been given to cure hangovers.

The potion worked wonders. Everyone who had been groaning just moments ago quickly returned to their usual selves and already started saying they were hungry. It’s probably best not to confirm if they remember anything from yesterday—especially Arisa and Mia.

Jojori came to invite us, so we all went to the dining hall. Come to think of it, Old Dohal and Jojori’s family are supposed to be ruling class here, yet they eat in the same room as the servants and blacksmiths. Do dwarves really see each other as brothers?

In the dining hall, Old Dohal was already having some welcome drinks. In front of him was the basilisk meat he made us eat yesterday. It was tasty, but its strong flavor made it hard to say I liked it. I prefer something a bit lighter.

He seemed to have just realized that Mia was an elf when she lowered her hood for the meal. Apparently, my worries were just prejudice—elves and dwarves don’t have bad relations here.

“Oh, a girl from the Forest of Boruenan. I heard she was missing—did she elope with a human tribe member?”

“Hm. We’re in love.”

What a damaging rumor. That’s completely untrue.

“We rescued her from an evil wizard’s kidnapping and now we’re on the way to return her to the forest.”

“Hmm.”

He seemed unhappy about the ‘in love’ comment being dismissed.

“The Forest of Boruenan’s elder council issued a search request, so we’ll send a report letter from here as well. Is that alright?”

“Yes, thank you very much.”

Not Old Dohal, but Mayor Dorial gave the order to arrange the letter.

Even in Seryu City, the odd-jobs store manager must have sent a letter, but since it’s not registered mail from the post office, it’s not guaranteed to arrive, so sending many is no problem.

Since I left things unattended yesterday, today I decided to take everyone sightseeing around Boruehart City. Apparently, they restocked consumables yesterday. Impressive.

Jojori insisted on personally showing us around. It felt like VIP treatment.

We started at the magic shop I was told about yesterday.

“Excuse me, Lord Satou. You may enter the magic shop in front of the mine only with grandfather’s permission. Lord Satou, you have no problem, but your companions must wait here.”

Just when I thought we’d all tour together, we hit a snag.

Not wanting to trouble Jojori, I had everyone wait and quickly took care of business.

Don Han’s Magic Shop was beyond the covered walkway above the Mithril furnace square from yesterday. I see now why Old Dohal’s permission is required to pass through here.

At Jojori’s request, I wore the Fairy Sword I had just received yesterday at my waist. The sword belt was one I had made earlier for Nana, and I had hastily crafted the plain wooden scabbard myself before breakfast. I plan to make a proper scabbard another day.

“Hey, Jojori, did you fall for a human tribe member? Zajiul will cry.”

“Hey, Jojori, bringing a human tribe member here—your boss will punch you.”

Inside the shop, we were greeted by a pair of small twin old men. They were gnomes, not dwarves.

“Hello, Grandpa Don and Grandpa Haan. We have permission from grandpa.”

Jojori said this and pointed to the pommel of the Fairy Sword. The old gnomes asked to see it closely, so I took it off the belt and held it where they could easily see.
