This is Satou. When I travel on business, I sometimes see people on the shinkansen platform sending off those who are being transferred.
I’ve wondered what it feels like to be sent off like that, but actually being seen off, it surprisingly doesn’t feel bad at all.

“Are you really going?”
Viscount Nina, who came to see us off as we were about to depart, tried to stop me.
Behind her, more than 20 maids and servants were all gathered to bid us farewell.
The maids’ outfits weren’t the plain one-piece dresses from two weeks ago, but frilly maid outfits like you’d see in Akihabara. The skirts reached down to their ankles, but they were cuter than anything before.
Of course, the mastermind behind this was Arisa. For some reason, instead of coming from the barony’s budget, the funds were taken from my own pocket money, but seeing the results, I understood.
Still, I heard the outfits would be finished around spring, so this was surprisingly early. Maybe it struck a chord with the tailor’s sensibilities. After all, "cute is justice," as they say.
By the way, it was just early morning, with the sun just beginning to rise.
Honestly, I hadn’t expected so many people to come see us off.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Pochi and Tama receiving something from Lady Solna—something that looked like sweets in a small pouch.
Also present were the men—Baron, Hout, and Zotol.
Miss Karina wasn’t here.
I had asked her personal maid not to wake her, since she’d been attacked almost daily for the past two weeks, and I wanted to avoid any trouble at departure.
More than that, the maids who had been inching closer since earlier were scary.
They all clasped their hands at their chests, looking at me with teary eyes.
Umm?
No one’s making any moves, right?
“Lord Noble, please don’t go.”
A slender redheaded maid suddenly took a step forward, shouting that and hugging me tightly.
Almost—wish she had a bit more volume.
Starting with her, one after another, maids hugged me, trying to keep me from leaving.
Damn, the loli-sized maids were too quick, and I missed the chance to interact with the more voluptuous maids.
From behind, Arisa kicked me, saying, “Don’t get all lovey-dovey,” but I ignored her.
“Lord Noble, please stay with us.”
“That’s right! If you leave, who will make the crepes?”
“More fried chicken instead of crepes!”
“Please at least leave Pochi-chan behind!”
“What are you saying? Tama-chan is cuter!”
“Better yet, come marry me and cook for me forever.”
But I didn’t think I was popular; clearly, everyone just couldn’t resist the delicious food and the cuteness of Pochi and Tama.
Oh?
Feeling something familiar on both my legs, I looked down—
It was Pochi and Tama, clinging to my legs. What do they want?
With sparkling eyes, they looked up at me. Maybe they thought this was a new game like a cozy, crowded hug-fest?
“Everyone! I know you’re reluctant to part, but Lord Noble looks troubled.”
“That’s right! There’s pound cake baked by Lord Noble in the dining hall. Come eat it as soon as your morning work is done.”
The head maid clapped her hands, signaling for the maids to step back.
When the head chef spoke up, everyone retreated like a receding tide. It was a little lonely.
“Is breakfast ready yet? It can’t compare to Lord Noble’s cooking, but please have some.”
“Thank you very much. I’ll gratefully accept.”
I handed the lunch box from the head chef to Lulu on the coachman’s seat.
“Honestly, can’t you at least leave Arisa behind?”
“No way! I can’t live unless I’m by my darling’s side.”
Who’s the darling here!
Brushing off Arisa’s delusions, I exchanged farewell greetings with Nina and the Baron. Nina gave me letters of introduction to various nobles in different cities. I also took several important letters for influential nobles in major cities that she asked me to deliver.
