Today, the story updates simultaneously.
This is the third episode.
After returning from the shop, I met up with Mr. Jeff and Mr. Kokin, who had changed clothes.
“Alright then, I’ll be off.”
“Thank you very much, Mr. Jeff!”
“No problem. See you!”
Mr. Jeff left, saying his job was done.
I bowed my head to his back and, after seeing him off, led Mr. Kokin and the others back to the Guild.
By the way, the three of them registered with the commercial guild. When I asked which guild they preferred, it was a unanimous decision.
Upon arriving at the commercial guild, we were, as usual, taken to the reception room to meet the guild master.
“Are those the new recruits you mentioned?”
“Yes. We found these talents earlier today through an acquaintance.”
“You’re always quick to take action. You came this morning to talk... Well, being agile is a strength for a merchant. So, you’re having these kids work at your shop?”
“Yes!” “Yes!” “Yes!”
Hearing their response, the guild master looked at the three of them and seemed to widen his eyes slightly.
“Oh ho... Ryoma, what have you done? I sense some strange ambition from these guys, but they don’t seem likely to betray you. They don’t look like they just met you today.”
As expected...
Since Mr. Kokin and the others were once slime researchers, they recognized the value of the cleaner slime and highly appreciated me without regard to my age or appearance.
At the same time, they probably had some pent-up frustrations. There was joy in the possibility of relieving that, and the security of a stable income gave them peace of mind. Although we had only just met, they seemed to look up to me. Especially Mr. Tony, who had suffered hardships related to the Beast Tamer Guild, seemed to have accumulated considerable resentment...
For whatever reason, the guild master gave his stamp of approval, saying there was no problem, and we completed the registration and contracts for the three of them.
They were mainly entrusted with managing the cleaner slimes, and a solid contract was drawn up under the supervision of guild staff to ensure they wouldn’t hand them over to anyone else. Apparently, there are various types of contracts, and the one used this time was a special contract form usually reserved for large transactions.
Though it doesn’t use magic, the paper itself is proof of an important document and is strictly managed by the guild, making forgery or alteration impossible. Violating the contract brings severe penalties.
As an exception, if we open new stores, I can permit the transfer of the familiar tamer responsible for that shop. Otherwise, expanding branches would be impossible.
After completing all necessary procedures, we thanked the guild master and left together.
Next, we headed straight to the shop to introduce them to Mr. Calm and have them start working immediately.
“Customer numbers 13, 14, 15, please!”
“38, 39, 40, I’ll put these here!”
By the way, I learned on the way to the shop and guild that Mr. Kokin was formerly a noble. Perhaps because of that, his way of speaking is a bit arrogant, so he was assigned to carry the laundry.
Mr. Tony, having been a day laborer miner, apparently has strong stamina, so he also took on the laundry duties.
Ms. Lobelia, having worked in jobs with a lot of human contact, was assigned to the reception. Although sudden, she seems to be doing well. Or maybe she learned from her previous store... Several adventurers visiting the shop seem to be captivated? Her outfit isn’t that revealing... but maybe that doesn’t matter. Visibility isn’t everything.
Anyway, I think those captivated male adventurers are likely to become regular customers.
Now that I think about it, the shop employs nothing but beautiful women... or maybe the overall level of people in this world is just high? I don’t recall meeting any ugly people so far. Even older women seem gracefully aged.
While I was thinking about this, a loud voice came from the shop.
