The next day
~Side Ryoma~
After yesterday’s meeting, Karla-san and Calm-san’s enthusiasm about starting business “from tomorrow if possible!” pushed us to open the shop starting today. So I arrived at the store early in the morning.
It’s currently 5 a.m.
“Maybe this is a bit too early...”
I accidentally showed up at work based on my previous life’s timing—bad move. The two probably won’t come for a while.
I had no choice but to kill time by playing with the slime.
““Good morning, manager.””
“Good morning, Mr. Calm, Ms. Karla. I look forward to working with you from today.”
After they arrived, we did a quick check and finished preparing to open. But really, it was just putting the cleaner slime in the waiting room, preparing change money, and getting some bags ready.
The bags they had ordered this morning were already here, so they were immediately useful.
“Well then... I’m off.”
““Have a good day!””
It might be odd to leave things to others on the very first day, but since we can’t do any flyer or advertisement promotions, I decided to promote the shop when I take jobs at the Guild. Mr. Serge really prepared capable people I can fully trust… honestly, do I even need to be here? Well, the whole point was to hire people.
Thinking that, I stopped by next door before heading to the Guild. I needed to inform Ms. Pauline that we had opened.
“Excuse me, is anyone here?”
The shop seemed open, but nobody was inside, so I called out. Ms. Pauline came out from the back.
“Ah, Ryoma-kun. Here to buy seeds again today?”
“No, actually, I wanted to let you know that Laundry Service Provider - Bamboo Forest officially opened today.”
“Oh my, already opened? That’s quick.”
“Yes, thanks to everyone’s support. The sample bag I gave you last time is free, so please give us a try. Please tell Ms. Mary and Ms. Kiara as well. The two employees have already been informed.”
“You hired people?”
“Introduced by an acquaintance. When I’m doing adventuring jobs, I’ll completely leave things to the two of them. Also, until the business stabilizes, the salaries will be paid from my adventuring earnings.”
They even said they don’t need a salary if allowed to work! But I couldn’t let that happen… honestly, I don’t understand why they want to work here so much. I think Mr. Serge’s place suits their abilities better and pays more… maybe it’s their connections?
Well, it helps us, so I have no complaints.
“Considering the shop size, is that really necessary? Anyway, good luck. I’ll support you and try using your service today.”
“Thank you. I’m off to work now.”
After greeting her, I left the shop. When I got to the Guild, I was immediately greeted.
“Ryoma, the laundry shop is opening soon, right?”
“When from?”
“Hope it opens fast~”
Since the magical beast hunt at the abandoned mine shaft, I’ve chatted more with adventurers I met on the shared carriage. They seem to be looking forward to the laundry shop opening too.
“Laundry Service Provider - Bamboo Forest opens today.”
“Really!?”
“Yes. For adventurers, we also offer full-body cleaning service including armor and weapons, so please make use of it.”
“Alright! I’ll definitely go on my way back today!”
After loudly announcing the opening and location for promotion, I accepted a herb-gathering quest. I’d finish it while patrolling the abandoned mine shaft.
Several hours later
Though I’d left the shop in their care, I was worried, so I quickly finished patrolling and returned.
To my surprise... even on the first day, people were gathered.
...Eh? There are more than 20 people outside!?
Hurriedly entering the shop, Karla-san greeted me.
“Welcome... Manager!”
“Karla-san, what’s going on?”
“A happy problem!”
“Manager! Several madams from the neighborhood came to request laundry!”
Calm-san, who was carrying laundry from the back, also came out to say this. We have to handle this many customers!
