Today, four chapters are posted simultaneously.

This is the fourth chapter.

Day 11

From morning, I rushed around shopping and bought a massive amount of ingredients. I spent the day prepping and getting ready dishes that I could start making today.

Tomorrow’s menu is salad, meat sauce spaghetti, and steak. For dessert, apple pie.

I was unsure what to serve, but pasta and steak exist in this world too. If I stick with such safe options, it shouldn’t cause any trouble. It might not feel very party-like, though.

Speaking of party-appropriate dishes, I personally think pizza fits best, but I haven’t seen it in this world yet, so I gave up on that.

As for drinks, I prepared water, alcohol, and two kinds of fruit juice.

Since it’s a celebration, I splurged a bit on alcohol—telling the shopkeeper to recommend something within a budget of three gold coins for about 30 people. The fruit juices, however, were homemade.

Alchemy turned out to be surprisingly useful for cooking. For example, after rolling out the spaghetti dough, using alchemy to separate the moisture instantly turns it into dried noodles. That way, all that’s needed tomorrow is boiling. For the juices, crushing the fruit and separating the juice removes the pulp, creating 100% fruit juice.

Is this really a proper use of alchemy?

Also... for the meat sauce, in my previous life I used store-bought consommé, but there’s none here. So today, I made chicken and vegetable broth. Tomorrow, I’ll mince the meat I bought at the butcher along with tomatoes, fry it up, add the broth, and season it—it should turn out just right.

The finished products were stored in wooden boxes coated entirely with hardened sticky slime liquid. These boxes were kept inside a cold storage unit, which had an insulation field that, instead of blocking outside cold, kept internal cold from escaping.

By the way, this cold storage unit is fantastic. Using appraisal magic, I can check not only the description of the unit itself but also the condition and freshness of its contents—like noting if something inside is starting to spoil. It’s less the cold storage’s effect and more a neat trick of appraisal magic.

When cooking was done, it was a slightly awkward time—somewhat earlier than evening.

It was too late to head to the Guild now, but too early to go home...?

As I aimlessly wandered the city, the church caught my eye.

Right, I haven’t prayed recently. I’ll go pray.

On a whim, I headed to the church, where I was greeted by a girl who seemed to be in her teens.

“Welcome. What brings you here today?”

“I’ve got some free time, so I want to offer a prayer to the gods.”

“Very well, please come this way.”

She led me to a spacious room lined with many chairs in front of the altar. It seemed I could pray freely here. The girl said, “Please take your time,” and left.

Though she said “take your time,” I wondered how long I should pray. I sat down on the nearest chair, put my hands together, and closed my eyes.

After a few seconds,

I felt as if something was leaving my body, but it wasn’t unpleasant—it was a comforting sensation.

When I opened my eyes... I was in that pure white room I’d seen twice before.

“You’re back again...?”

“Yeah, I came back.”

A voice came from behind me. When I turned around, Kufo was there.

“Kufo, we meet again.”

“Not like it’s been so long. It’s been less than a month since last time.”

“Aren’t Gain and Lurutia with you today?”

“No. They went out for a bit.”

“Wait, do gods go out somewhere?”

“It’s rare, but yeah.”

“Oh? Where to?”

Kufo looked panicked.

“Ah... well, actually, it’s your original world.”

“Earth!? Why? Are they calling more people again?”

“No, no! Nothing like that this time...”

Kufo hesitated.

“This time? If it’s hard to say, you don’t have to force it...”

“Hmm... Ryoma-kun, is it okay if I say? It’s sightseeing.”

“Huh?”

Sightseeing?

“Lurutia is touring sweets from your world, and Gain seems hooked on Japanese idol group songs.”
