Chapter 354: After-Dinner Drink 🍷

Published: August 25, 2025

"I'm already full, nya..."

After dinner, the dining hall was lined with adults wearing satisfied expressions. I also savored the taste of curry after a long time, but everyone else seemed to have become like machines, repeatedly bringing their spoons to their mouths. When I ate crab in Fatma Territory, I was like that too, but do these people fall silent when eating curry?

In any case, if they were satisfied, then the effort of making it was worth it.

"This curry is truly the best. I feel like I could eat as much as I want."

"The dessert was also really delicious."

"That's good to hear."

For dessert, I prepared ice cream made from soy milk and ice magic. The flavor was the classic "vanilla," which could be considered a basic flavor in my previous life. The vanilla bean plant, the source of vanilla beans, is one of the materials that can be harvested in the Tree Sea.

It requires a bit of processing before use, but since it’s available in abundance in Korumi Village, I can use it as much as I want. Fresh milk is actually harder to keep on hand.

Since I didn’t have any stock this time, I substituted with soy milk, but perhaps I should consider raising magical beasts like clever chickens in the dimension home, just like I do, or even dairy cows...

"The coldness is comforting to a tongue and body heated by the spiciness of the curry. Furthermore, this refreshing sweetness and the rich aroma that wafts through the nose — it’s an indescribable feeling of happiness."

While thinking about milk, Mr. Sebas’s food review came to mind. Since he said that and he was a food enthusiast who enjoyed tasting various dishes, I could be confident in this ice cream as well. I’ll try the milk version next time.

"By the way, what shall we do about the alcohol?"

I had prepared some to drink with the meal, but since everyone was so absorbed in the curry that drinking was forgotten, it remained untouched. Should I go ahead and clear it away?

"With such a delicious meal and alcohol too, it’s truly indulgent. I think I’ll have some."

"I’ll have some too. You can choose the type of alcohol."

With Wellanna and Jeff leading the voices of those wanting to drink, we shifted into a more relaxed party time. However, since everyone was full and still savoring the aftertaste of the curry, the mood was for a light drink.

It didn't seem like they needed much, so I chose a common wine for everyone. The goblins’ homemade distilled liquor and refined sake taste good, but they’re unfamiliar around here. I thought about offering a variety of drinks if they planned to drink seriously, but the current atmosphere was better suited to familiar beverages. I also kept the amount of snacks light...

"Well then, cheers!"

"Cheers!"

Everyone began enjoying their wine as they liked, but what caught my eye was Ms. Eleonora sitting opposite me. The moment she took a sip from her glass, she stiffened. Upon closer observation, she was staring wide-eyed at the glass. She had mentioned it was rare for her to drink, so maybe the wine didn’t agree with her?

"Ms. Eleonora, is something wrong?"

"No, I was just a bit surprised... Is wine really this delicious?"

It seemed the wine wasn’t too strong or unpleasant.

"I'm glad you liked it. I’m not very knowledgeable about wine, so I just bought it somewhat casually before."

"Casually or not, I really think it’s delicious. It’s possible I’m biased because I haven’t had much good quality wine, but it’s less bitter and astringent, making it very easy to drink."

"Some wines are like that, I see."

"There are. My family home, as I mentioned before, has a mine, and alcohol is in high demand among the miners, so a large amount is imported from outside the territory, making it relatively inexpensive and easy to get. However, pure water suitable for drinking was hard to obtain, so wine was the usual drink... but it can’t compare to what I’m drinking now."

I had heard on Earth that some regions or eras used weak alcoholic drinks in place of water, but Ms. Eleonora’s home seems to be such a place.
