This story is the second chapter.

The next day.

The inheritance recovery was complete, and Korumi had finished releasing the bound souls. Now, having almost fully achieved the purpose of coming to the Tree Sea, there was little left to do until the leader rhinos appeared, inevitably making things quite idle for now.

Mr. Glen seemed pleased with the butchering of the prey he entrusted to our goblins yesterday and was happily out hunting. I thought about following him, but the thought of the leader rhinos appearing while he was away prevented me from straying too far.

After some thought since morning, I decided to clean up the remains of the village around the mansion and level the land.

"Let me ask again, are you really okay with this?"

"Yeah, it's fine."

The village around the mansion had been used as a stage to recreate the former village’s appearance to comfort the souls of the original residents that Korumi had absorbed. But now that the undead had been freed, it was nothing more than useless baggage.

Leaving it unattended risked the natural reappearance of undead even without Korumi’s interference, so she told me to clean it up thoroughly to avoid future trouble. Since Korumi was probably the most attached to the village, if she said so, I wouldn’t hesitate to do it.

I had dismantled houses before and roughly knew the procedure, but since the environment was different, I started by testing a small area.

“First, remove the above-ground parts — building remains, weeds, and such.”

I summoned sand slimes from the dimension home and used earth magic to turn part of the ground into sand, then employed slime magic. Just like when we dismantled the dilapidated children’s houses in Gimul Town, I carved out a part of the village with a swirl of sand. Most of the stones and earthen walls that made up the building remains, as well as weeds and wood, could be cleared away all at once like this.

“Next is handling the sand and removing leftover debris.”

Using magic with soil slimes, I buried the remaining sand and pulverized house remains on the surface. Embedded objects like iron fences installed in the village and weed roots were removed and given to huge bush slimes for processing. With this alone, the appearance was that of a perfect empty lot.

To ensure the Heat Dissipation Trees wouldn’t fall toward the mansion, I backfilled the soil without damaging the roots of the trees, yet the efficiency was surprisingly high. Finally, having the huge bush slimes cover the ground completely erased all traces of artificial structures.

“That was quick!”

“It’s still just a small part. We’ll keep going from here.”

Korumi, watching from inside the mansion’s fence, exclaimed in awe. Her small figure made her look like a kindergartener thrilled to watch construction vehicles at work.

Well, most building materials were natural stones and wood, so in this environment, they would naturally return to nature. Since there were no problems with the work, I decided to continue cleaning up the other buildings.

As I circled the mansion clockwise, continuing the dismantling work, Mr. Glen returned around noon.

“Good work. How was it?”

“I didn’t see those cannonball rhinos, but the hunting ground was great. There were tons of magical beasts that didn’t appear in the shallow areas. I hunted several, so please butcher them again. Same as yesterday — take the meat, organs, and also the petals of Hotel Rafflesia.”

“Meat and organs, sure, but the petals too?”

“Yeah, normally I’d ignore that material, and come to think of it, I don’t usually handle dyes, so I don’t know any buyers. If I start calling around, I’m sure a bunch of buyers would appear, but negotiating who to sell to and the price sounds troublesome.

If that’s the case, it’s clearer to make some space now with a good hunting ground and butchering support, then go on a hearty hunt and return.”

I see; that’s a way of thinking. I won’t lose out, and since he’s okay with it, that’s fine.
