Today, three chapters posted simultaneously.
This is the third chapter.
“Stop right there!!”
The smell of blood hit my nose, and Mr. Sebas’s voice rang out.
“It seems I have lost...”
“Ugh... is that so? Isn’t this my loss? Ouch...”
I winced in pain from the wound and assessed the situation.
“I thought I barely made it in time, but I never expected you to respond like that in that situation…”
“For my part, I think the equipment helped me a lot…”
The attacks landed almost simultaneously. The moment my sword sliced through Mr. Seaver’s armor and wounded his left shoulder, a halberd with its shaft held as short as possible was thrust between both his arms, piercing his right shoulder.
In a final act of defiance, I released my right hand, which had been pierced, and with only my left arm I pressed my sword to his neck… but by then, a Wind Cutter had already been unleashed, cutting into my abdomen.
“If the sword had been fully swung through, Mr. Seaver would undoubtedly have had his neck slashed. However, at the same time, Lord Ryoma has also sustained not insignificant wounds to his shoulder and abdomen. In a situation where immediate treatment isn’t possible, this could be life-threatening.
I will rule this a double knockout. Both of you, sheathe your weapons and receive treatment, especially Lord Ryoma, please hurry.”
Mr. Sebas declared calmly, so we both sheathed our weapons. Immediately after, Mr. Seaver collapsed onto his knees and then sat down. Perhaps because my tension eased, the pain I felt intensified and my legs wobbled. As I began to fall backward, Mr. Sebas caught me and helped me lie down on the ground.
I could feel the bleeding from my wounds slowly staining my equipment red. The shoulder was bad, but the biggest problem was the abdomen… Judging from the amount of blood, I hadn’t damaged any major arteries. Still, the wound was large. I needed to stop the bleeding quickly…
“Miss Remily!”
“Yes, yes, I’ll hurry and heal this! Mega Heal! Honestly, what kind of match is this…”
“I was genuinely worried that one of you might die if this went one step further.”
“My apologies for acting as referee—”
“I don’t blame Sebas. I couldn’t have intervened either in that situation.”
Before Mr. Sebas could apologize, Lord Reinbach interrupted, and Miss Remily, who was attending to us, nodded in agreement.
“Mega Heal, yes. Sebas, there’s no reason for you to worry. Honestly, by the end, I couldn’t even follow the action with my eyes. Even though it was a simple barrier, the one I set up was shattered quickly. But since I’ve treated the wounds, you’ll be fine. Still, fighting until you can’t hear our voices is going too far.”
! I was surprised… I had guessed that Miss Remily was skilled in healing magic when she lightly mentioned before the match that even if her arms fell, she could keep fighting. But in an instant, the pain disappeared. The pierced shoulder and arm felt no discomfort at all. Not only had the bleeding stopped, it was probably completely healed.
From checking the wounds to casting healing magic, it was frighteningly fast. If it were me, even using a slime’s vision and concentrating, I wonder if I could do such a quick and accurate treatment—and all while conversing…
While I was amazed at Miss Remily’s skill, perhaps because the pain had eased, Mr. Seaver joined the conversation.
“Sorry… I realize I got too carried away.”
“Oh, I feel the same. My apologies.”
“Well, it’s good neither of you lost your lives, and the injuries are treatable. Ryoma-kun’s skills surpassed my expectations. If I had concerns about his ability, I would have stopped him or prepared an escort… but since he made Mr. Seaver bring out his serious skills and still held his own, that won’t be necessary.”
“No, the only reason I was able to draw even this time is because it was ‘just a match’. In an actual battle, it wouldn’t depend on skill alone; traps and familiars could have been used.
