Chapter 247: Suspicious Movements and Countermeasure Meetings 🕵️‍♂️

Published: August 15, 2025

After noon, as the afternoon progressed, the number of patients began to decrease.

At that point, the medical interns took turns handling the outpatient clinic, dedicating their free time to studying and research, while actively exchanging opinions.

By the way, what they were working on was...

Tinto, the athletic type, took an interest in protein and training.

Hector, who specialized in drugs and poisons, was seeking safer anesthetics and painkillers.

Clarissa, who had a keen interest in nutritional supplements, was conducting research into nutrients.

Everyone was cooperating with me in their respective fields of expertise.

"I'm truly grateful, as always."

"It's no trouble at all. We're interested too. But regarding the sample of the makeup remover from the other day..."

The one who initiated the discussion was the beautiful female doctor, Isabel.

She was helping me in my weakest area: anything related to beauty.

When I had paid my respects to the Duke's household previously, I had made bath bombs and sugar scrubs.

But because of that, the madam had come to expect me to be able to create beauty-related products.

There wasn’t any particular pressure yet, but I wanted to work hard on studying and developing products in that direction as well.

She was a strong ally — a woman with medical knowledge.

Occasionally, emergency patients would be brought in, but for the most part, time passed peacefully.

The hospital wasn’t struggling with management either, so having some downtime was a good thing.

Then, in the evening.

As I was preparing to go home, Maid Ms. Lilian came to see me.

“Lord Ryoma, may I have a moment of your time?”

Since I was just about to leave, I said it was no problem, and she led me to the conference room.

Inside were Mr. Fuse and Mr. Jill, representatives from the security company.

Also present were Mr. Zeff and Mr. Kamil, who were mainly in charge of waste disposal.

Supporting me were Ms. Lilian, Ms. Luluneze, and Mr. Ribiola.

Up to this point, it was the usual team dispatched from the Duke's household, but then—

“Ms. Lilin?”

“Good evening, shopkeeper.”

Ms. Lilin, who worked at the laundry service, was also there.

It wasn’t that having her here was a problem, but it was unusual—never before had someone outside the Duke's household lineup joined.

I took a seat and listened.

The first to speak was Mr. Fuse, the leader in training.

“Now that Ryoma is here, let's get started. Cutting the small talk, let's get to the main point. Regarding ‘that investigation,’ about eighty percent is complete.”

Ah, that matter. But eighty percent?

“The investigation is almost finished. We’ll continue to follow it up, but during the process, we discovered someone acting suspiciously. We want to discuss how to deal with him.”

“Who is the target?”

“He’s a laundry service employee, a new security guard named Eudam.”

Him, huh...

“Since Ms. Lilin is here, I assume the investigation had already been underway?”

“Exactly.”

“It’s a bit of a post-facto approval, but we just wanted to do a quick check. Right?”

“Yes. At first it was just a hunch from me and my father. No evidence.

That guy just often wandered around during his time off from work.”

“He was doing his job properly, and maybe he just wanted some fresh air during breaks. I do that too, and maybe he as well. So, nothing particularly strange, or so we thought.”

“But I heard that she and her father originally made a living doing underground work. So they were sensitive to something.”

Mr. Jill’s words made Ms. Lilin nod.

“I got curious. So, when he went out, I decided to follow him. I told him I wanted to show him around town and go with him, and he was very happy about that.”

“Ah... I can imagine.”

Mr. Eudam is a bit casual with women…

But he’s also friendly on duty, and I’ve heard he’s well regarded by women from kids visiting the store to madams.

“So, the result was black?”

Ms. Lilin nodded once and then looked at Ms. Luluneze.

She had several papers in her hands, presumably notes on his behavior.
