Today, five chapters are posted simultaneously.

This is the first chapter.

――Slime Observation Record――

Today, two new types of slime familiars joined.

Here is a summary of the observation record.

・Stone Slime

Skills: hardening level 2, physical attack resistance level 2, digestion level 3, absorption level 3, splitting level 3, mimicry level 10.

These slimes look like stones scattered everywhere outside.

As expected, their diet consists solely of stones.

So far, they don’t seem particular about the type of stone or its components.

However, when given stones they had picked up, they changed color to match and even replicated the texture.

I tried closing my eyes, lightly rolling one on the ground, then opening my eyes and lost sight of it for a while.

Thanks to the contract effect, I could still sense its location and retrieved it, but visually spotting it would be quite difficult.

Another experiment revealed that they prefer earth attribute mana and their bodies are influenced by earth magic.

Going forward, I want to increase their numbers and look for slimes that respond to various stones like magic stones, ores, and gems.

・Weed Slime

Skills: vitality enhancement level 5, photosynthesis level 5, digestion level 1, absorption level 1, growth acceleration level 5, splitting level 8, mimicry level 9.

Like the Stone Slime, these slimes grow what look like common weeds all over their bodies.

When hiding in bushes, they are also hard to detect.

Their food is weeds. I tried providing stockpiled medicinal and poisonous herbs, but they showed no interest.

However, they ate "small speargrass," which I had gathered during recent training.

Is that considered a weed? Or does this individual prefer grains?

I can’t decide yet, so first I want to increase their numbers and compare.

Fortunately, weeds and fertilizer are abundantly available for free.

They also seem to reproduce quickly.

They will surely multiply soon.

Since Weed Slimes are related to plants, they prefer wood, earth, and water attribute mana.

I also gave them fertilizer made by scavenger slime, which they seemed to enjoy.

Fluff slime also likes that fertilizer, so perhaps all plant-based slimes prefer it?

I want to continue observing and experimenting going forward.

――――――――――――

For both, the first step is to increase their numbers...

"Speaking of increasing..."

・Bloody Slime

Currently under observation.

It seems the poison effects are gone, which is a relief.

About the future: antibodies against Bush Snake poison have been confirmed.

However, the poison resistance and disease resistance skill have been possessed for some time.

That suggests it probably has antibodies against other poisons and diseases as well.

I want to verify that in the future.

To do so, I need to increase their numbers, but that requires an adequate supply of food.

Right now, Mr. Sieg’s shop is the main supplier.

But I already generously take everything from his shop each time.

Increasing the quantity further seems impossible.

Therefore, I need to look for other supply sources.

The first candidate that comes to mind is the Saionji Trading Company. They also handle meat butchering.

If so, it might mean entrusting the Bloody slime to someone at the Renaf branch to breed them.

Closer to home, the Adventurers’ Guild is supposed to have a slaughterhouse attached.

I heard during recent training that anyone can use it by paying a fee.

I haven’t used it before, so I don’t know how they handle disposal of the discarded remains.

But maybe I could get some blood from there.

Even if not, if bones or meat scraps are discarded, I could take them as food.

It’s worth asking; I’ll check it out.

“...That’s about it.”

I put away the simple notes.

I already ate dinner, is there anything else I need to do today...? Oh,

“By the way, what happened to those mushrooms...?”

Yesterday, thin ones started to grow.

I went to the mine where the mushroom bed was placed to check before sleeping.

“...A sound?”

As soon as I opened the first door installed yesterday, I heard a sound—something small scratching the inner door.
