Chapter 936: A Thousand Troops are Easy to Find, but a General is Hard to Come By
Aks stood calmly in front of the spatial rift. He was much more mature than before. Since arriving at the Ark Continent, the events that transpired had taught him many things.
He was very clear about how much the family had invested to reach the Ark Continent. If the family could not recoup their costs this time, then the O'Neill family would be finished.
What was amusing was that their greatest hope now was to see what their enemies looked like. Since arriving at the Ark Continent, they had not seen a single person, not even an enemy. So now they truly hoped to encounter their foes.
After discovering this spatial rift, the anxiety that had been hanging over them was finally released. At that moment, Captain George approached Aks and said, “Young Clan Leader, we have conducted several probing attacks previously, but the enemy's counterattacks were very fierce, and we couldn't push through. However, we have figured out the general deployment of their forces.”
Aks turned to look at George and nodded, “Good, well done. If the family succeeds this time, you will earn great merit.”
A flash of delight appeared in George's eyes as he bowed to Aks, “Thank you, Young Clan Leader!”
Aks nodded and said, “We just arrived here. Let's rest for two days before launching our attack. In these two days, draw a map of their military deployment for me to facilitate our operations.”
George nodded, “Yes, Young Clan Leader. The map is already prepared, and I will bring it to you shortly.”
A hint of appreciation flashed in Aks's eyes. He patted George's shoulder and said, “Good job, George. You handle matters very systematically, excellent work.”
With Aks's pat, George felt as if a weight had been lifted off him. He immediately replied, “Thank you, young master. It's what I should do.”
Aks nodded, “Alright, you go back and bring me the map. I’ll rest for a bit.”
George immediately replied, “Young Clan Leader, please wait. I will return shortly with the map.” Aks nodded and turned back to the battle vehicle. As the vehicle turned around, it kicked up dust and left.
Sitting in the battle vehicle, Aks realized he had been on the move without rest for several days and was truly exhausted. The people from the Mecha Continent did not have physical prowess as their strong suit, and this time he was really worn out.
Even though he was physically tired, he couldn't fall asleep. His mind was racing with too many thoughts, making it impossible for him to get any rest.
Eventually, Aks thought of Zhao Hai, the seemingly foolish person he had met once. Every time he thought of Zhao Hai, a surge of anger would rise within him.
The person he had once dismissed as a fool had outsmarted him, and so every time he thought of Zhao Hai, he couldn’t help but feel anger. He had a strong feeling that Zhao Hai was definitely beyond this spatial rift. It was precisely because of this feeling that he had insisted on coming here; originally, his father did not agree with his decision.
While Aks was lost in thought, the battle vehicle stopped. The driver said softly, “Young Clan Leader, we have arrived. You should go to your room and rest.”
Aks slowly opened his eyes, looked around, and nodded, “You should rest as well.” After saying that, he opened the door and got out.
As soon as Aks entered the room, he heard a servant outside say, “Young Master, Captain George requests an audience. He says he has brought the military deployment map from the spatial rift for you.”
Aks nodded, “Let him in.” The servant replied and soon led George into Aks's room. George was holding a detailed map in his hands.
Aks waved his hand at the servant, “Go prepare some food and drinks. George, stay here and have a meal with me while explaining the map.”
George was overjoyed internally but kept a calm expression, responding, “Understood.” He walked over to the table and carefully spread out the map.
