The few Liches were at a loss for words; they had not expected such a significant change to occur in the Sailing Boat Continent. To them, it felt as if they were listening to something incomprehensible.
Zhao Hai glanced at the Liches and said in a deep voice, "Everyone, I won't say much more. You will undoubtedly encounter people from the Atlantis Continent in the future, so please be cautious." After finishing his words, he prepared to leave on the Darkness King.
Just then, one of the Liches suddenly called out, "Sir, please wait." Zhao Hai was taken aback and stopped, turning to look at the Liches. "Do you have something to discuss?" he asked.
The eldest Lich among them bowed to Zhao Hai. The gesture resembled that of nobility, yet it carried an ancient charm. Laura, observing the elder's gesture, brightened and whispered in Zhao Hai's ear, "Brother Hai, this is the gesture of ancient nobility, used when making requests."
Zhao Hai nodded and looked at the Lich, inquiring, "Is there something you wish to discuss, sir?" The Lich replied, "Looking at your appearance, you must possess extraordinary qualities. We Liches have grown weary of staying in the Underworld and wish to travel with you. We would like to serve you as your subordinates!"
Zhao Hai was surprised; he hadn't expected the Lich to make such a request. He looked at the Liches with confusion and said, "You all possess divine-level strength now. Even in the Underworld, you should be considered powerful individuals. Are you really willing to give up everything to follow me and become my subordinates?"
The eldest Lich smiled slightly and said, "You are correct, sir. We are indeed noteworthy figures in the Underworld. However, the Underworld is different from other places; in the Underworld, those who truly hold power are mostly undead beings. We rarely quarrel, and while the lower beings may fight, we do not engage. We have been virtually idle for so many years that I have lost count of how long I have lived. We are tired of this monotonous life filled with nothingness, where we can only sleep; we genuinely wish to join you, even if it means becoming your slaves."
Zhao Hai turned to the other Liches and asked, "Is this how you all feel?"
The other Liches nodded in agreement. To be honest, spending all day doing nothing but dazing off and sleeping was not a life meant for anyone; it felt like a harsh prison sentence.
Zhao Hai looked at the Liches and smiled slightly. "I can take you with me, and you can bring your subordinates aboard my ship. We can be friends; there’s no need for you to be slaves."
The Liches stared at Zhao Hai in amazement, not expecting him to be so accommodating and willing to be their friend.
One of the Liches looked at Zhao Hai and asked, "Sir, we are Liches. Will this cause you any trouble if we go out with you?" Zhao Hai laughed heartily, "You are thinking too much! I am a dark mage, and I have millions of undead beings on my continent. How could I care about a few more Liches?"
The Liches were taken aback for a moment, then they became excited. "Then how many undead beings can your ship accommodate? We have quite a few subordinates!"
Zhao Hai laughed again, "No matter how many there are, they can all be brought to the space! The more, the better!"
The Lich hesitated for a moment and then said, "Alright, since you say so, I won't be polite. However, many of my subordinates cannot fly; could you lower your ship a bit?"
Zhao Hai smiled slightly and gradually lowered the Darkness King until it touched the ground. At that moment, the leading elder Lich let out a sharp howl, leading the other Liches onto the ship. Soon, a large number of undead beings rushed over from all directions.
Zhao Hai initially thought the subordinates of these Liches would also be Liches, but he quickly realized he was mistaken. Among the undead beings arriving from all sides, many were skeletons and zombies, while Liches were the least present. Although he found it somewhat strange, Zhao Hai still welcomed all of them onto the ship.
