CHAPTER 875: The Opportunity of the O'Neill Family
Laura and Zhao Hai always wanted to lure people into the space for two reasons.
First, the space was too vast and having a few more people would create a more vibrant atmosphere. Moreover, it was quite wasteful to not utilize such a large space.
The second reason was the power of belief. Although Zhao Hai still didn't quite understand the benefits of this power of belief to cultivators, the effort they expended to gather it assured him that it must be significant for them.
However, if one day Zhao Hai ascended to the Cultivation World and wanted to gather the power of belief, it would likely not be that easy. The fact that Lu Wei was sent to such a place to collect the power of belief illustrated that gathering it in the Cultivation World would not be straightforward.
If the people there were all powerful, it would be nearly impossible for Zhao Hai to collect the power of belief.
Moreover, since spaces like theirs had already been allocated in the Cultivation World, it was certain that the major forces had cleaned out the area, making it risky for Zhao Hai to gather the power of belief there. He would undoubtedly offend those major forces and would be pursued. Having already offended Lu Wei, he did not want to make too many enemies.
A single avatar of Lu Wei was so formidable, it was evident that his true self must be even stronger. In the Cultivation World, Lu Wei was not the strongest entity; there were many who were more powerful. Zhao Hai certainly didn't want to arrive in the Cultivation World only to be hunted down. That would be unpleasant.
Most importantly, Zhao Hai feared there could be someone in the Cultivation World capable of breaking through space. If such a person existed, Zhao Hai would be in even greater danger.
Therefore, before entering the Cultivation World, Zhao Hai made comprehensive preparations. He aimed to lure more people into the space so that when he reached the Cultivation World, he would not lack the power of belief. He needed to comprehend the nature of mecha and the ultimate weapon. Once these things were in his grasp, he would have a greater means of self-protection.
Aks stood confidently at the bow of the Overlord, liking the name of the ship immensely. Every time he heard it, he felt a surge of excitement.
A few days earlier, they had already visited Flame Island. There had been no significant changes; only some magical beasts were present. Aks wasted no time and directly dispatched people to Flame Island to eliminate those magical beasts, obtaining some magic crystals. Though there weren't many, Aks was still very pleased. He enjoyed the feeling of conquest.
They then traveled northward. He knew the Ark Continent was to the north because Zhao Hai had come from there, so he was not in a hurry and made his way north at a leisurely pace.
The Overlord was not the flagship among the four ships; that honor belonged to the Brilliance, where his father was. Aks had specifically requested to come to the Overlord.
Aks didn't like staying under his father's watchful eye. While he could learn a lot, being monitored daily made him uncomfortable. Thus, when they set off, he proactively suggested coming aboard the Overlord, providing a convincing reason that he wanted to learn how to command a ship effectively.
This reason proved quite effective. Upon hearing it, his father immediately agreed, allowing him to become the captain of the Overlord and assigning him an experienced first mate.
Before, he hadn’t felt it, but once he truly managed a ship, he discovered the wonderful taste of power, akin to a fine wine that was hard to resist.
In the past few days, they had sent out some mechas to scout the surroundings but had not found any land or sighted any ships. This puzzled Aks.
Their ship was not slow; it was powered by energy devices, not the ancient sailboats. Despite traveling for several days without encountering land, it appeared that Flame Island was indeed very far from the Ark Continent.
