Chapter 868: Jin Ben's Scheme
Jin Ben sat on the Golden Bull, his face calm, but inside he was anything but peaceful. He had lost contact with the people on the continent for over a month, and he could imagine that the situation there must be dire.
The thought made him even more anxious. He felt a heaviness in his chest and couldn't help but cough a few times. Ever since he had fled from his battle with Zhao Hai, he had escaped with injuries. Although his life was spared, his body was far from what it used to be. Then he personally went out to persuade Capricorn and the other four continents to send troops to assist them, which took a considerable amount of his energy. His health deteriorated day by day; his hair and beard had turned completely white, and his face lost the rosy glow it once had.
According to his estimates as the clan leader of the Golden Bull Clan, even if Zhao Hai was powerful, it would take him at least three to six months to conquer the Golden Bull Continent. However, Jin Ben did not expect that shortly after leaving the continent, he would lose contact, which made him extremely uneasy.
Although he had requested military support from five continents, he had only managed to secure two ultimate weapons. Counting the three he already possessed, he honestly had no confidence that these three ultimate weapons could defeat Zhao Hai. The reason he led the reinforcements back to the Golden Bull Continent was out of necessity. Firstly, he was worried about the situation there, and secondly, he understood that even if he sought help from others, it would be futile. Those people would not send ultimate weapons to assist them again. The two ultimate weapons he managed to gather came at a tremendous cost. Thirdly, he was deliberately doing this; by bringing these people to the Golden Bull Continent, even if they were defeated by Zhao Hai, he wouldn’t fear the consequences. Zhao Hai defeating them would mean he had made enemies with those continents, and in time, many from those continents would fight Zhao Hai to the death.
With this intention, Jin Ben sought out the Divine Race members from Capricorn, Scorpio, and Cancer Continents. Among the Divine Race, the people from these continents were the most vengeful. Once they engaged in battle with Zhao Hai, they would not be able to stop.
Furthermore, these individuals had a poor reputation among the Divine Race; they were aggressive, ruthless, and extremely vengeful, holding grudges against even minor offenses. Most notably, the people from these clans were incredibly greedy, and even as fellow Divine Race members, Jin Ben did not like them.
However, because of their nature, Jin Ben could manipulate them. He effectively utilized their greed and arrogance to drag them into this war.
Thinking of this, Jin Ben turned his gaze towards the clans behind him. This time, the five major races had dispatched an elite force of one hundred million to assist the Golden Bull Continent. In addition to their own one hundred million Divine Race troops, there were nearly another hundred million from other races, totaling two hundred million soldiers. Besides this massive army, there were also close to two hundred domain weapons, along with two ultimate weapons. It could be said that the five major clans were taking Zhao Hai very seriously.
However, Jin Ben did not have much confidence in this army. He had witnessed Zhao Hai's attack techniques; they were strong, really strong. He believed that if Zhao Hai wanted to attack the city of the Divine Race, there would be no one able to stop him.
There were also many troops available for battle on the Golden Bull Continent, but every time these armies faced Zhao Hai, they were crushed. Although the Golden Bull Continent had lost some military power earlier, and with the uprising of the three major races, Jin Ben believed these were not the primary reasons for his concern. The main reason was Zhao Hai's overwhelming strength.
Even though this two hundred million army was summoned by him, they were not under his direct command. He couldn’t direct these people, who were also unwilling to bow to one another. How much combat power they could actually unleash was something Jin Ben truly had no assurance of.
