Chapter 754: Black Fog on the Icefield

The Extreme North Icefield, which used to be incredibly icy, has lost some of its chill, as the ice sources here have been taken away. However, due to the sunlight, the Extreme North Icefield remains one of the coldest places in the entire Ark Continent.

Zhao Hai, whether he obtained the Wind Pearl or took away the bubbles, did not completely explore the entire Extreme North Icefield. His purpose for going there was singular— to find the beast god spear. Once he found it, he deemed there was nothing else of note in the Extreme North Icefield and returned, without delving deeper into the Extreme North Wilderness.

At that time, there truly wasn’t much that warranted attention in the Extreme North Icefield, but now it is different. While Zhao Hai was troubled with how to deal with the impending attack from the demon clan and the possible assault from the two races, changes were occurring in the Extreme North Icefield that remained unknown.

In the Extreme North Icefield, whether day or night, there was almost only one color: white. Apart from the white, you could hardly see any other color. However, amidst this white, a few dark spots began to appear.

In fact, these dark spots covered a considerable area, forming a mass of black mist over a hundred meters wide. On the pure white backdrop of the Extreme North Icefield, it was as if a drop of ink had fallen on a sheet of white paper, making it very conspicuous.

Currently, there were no people in the Extreme North Icefield, so no one had noticed these changes. If Zhao Hai had discovered the changes, he would have calculated that the appearance of this black mist coincided with the time when the first leaf of the Elven Race's tree of life withered.

Zhao Hai had no time to pay attention to the Extreme North Icefield; the divine race and the demon lord were enough to give him headaches. He had no leisure to mind the Extreme North Icefield.

As time passed, the mass of black mist grew denser and larger, ultimately expanding to over ten thousand meters. At the very center, it seemed to have turned into a substance resembling black ink.

Gradually, waves of white smoke began to emerge from the ink-like substance. However, this white smoke did not materialize out of thin air; it resembled smoke produced when a highly corrosive liquid was eating away at something.

Yet, this black mist was not corroding anything else but the spatial barrier. Two days later, a circular black hole was eroded into existence by this black mist, followed by more black mist emerging, making the original hole larger.

Suddenly, a skeletal hand reached out from the circular hole, and then a skeleton stepped out from the black void. It looked around, scratching its smooth bald head with its bony fingers as if confused about where it was, and then it began to scan the surroundings.

Seeing nothing of note, the undead being moved forward without any regard for its surroundings.

Not long after the first skeleton moved out, another skeleton crawled out from the circular hole, mimicking the actions of the previous one. After it passed, yet another skeleton emerged.

Soon, more and more skeletons crawled out from the circular hole, moving around as if aimlessly, but they spread out wide, fanning out from the circular hole in all directions.

It was hard to tell how many skeletons had emerged. Suddenly, a massive bony claw stretched out from the ever-growing circular hole, followed by a gigantic magical beast skeleton that emerged. This creature appeared to belong to the Dragon Clan, but it lacked wings and was slightly smaller than dragons. Its bones were not intact; several pieces were missing, and a few ribs were broken, suggesting it had been damaged during a battle.

After the undead being emerged, it let out a roar towards the sky. Although it was merely a skeletal frame, it produced a booming sound, and as it roared, the nearest skeletons moved towards it and stood beside it as if awaiting orders.

The undead being roared again, and only then did the skeletons scatter, while the undead slowly moved forward, distancing itself from the circular hole.
