Chapter 741: Caught Off Guard
Zhao Hai heard the shout and turned to glance at the person, sneering as he said, "If you want to kill me, you have to pay a price."
As the river water had been straightened by the bubbles, Zhao Hai felt a significant reduction in pressure. He could handle the mountain, and it was no trouble for him.
Zhao Hai also noticed that the mountain within the opponent's River and Mountain Fan seemed to be less aggressive than the river. Though the mountain appeared imposing, resembling a mighty peak, it seemed to only have the weight of pressure and no other offensive capabilities. On the other hand, the river's hidden energy surged continuously, like an unstoppable tide.
In fact, Zhao Hai was not mistaken. The power of the river was greater than that of the mountain. The river had been refined from a stretch of the Wuding River, a treasure in their realm with immense power. Thus, the river's offensive capability was naturally strong, while the mountain was merely an ordinary one, collected casually to complement the Wuding River water when making the River and Mountain Fan, so its power could not compare.
The person's face turned pale with anger as he glared at Zhao Hai and said, "Good, good, I underestimated you. But kid, you're definitely going to die today." With that, he waved his hand, and a long sword flew out from a ring on his finger.
The sword was three feet and three inches long, with a blood-red blade and a long tassel at the hilt. He made a hand seal and pointed at Zhao Hai, shouting loudly, "Chì!"
The blood-colored sword shot toward Zhao Hai with ferocity. When Zhao Hai saw the sword, he recognized it was not an ordinary item, but he was not afraid. He swung his hand, and the staff flew from his grip to meet the long sword.
A twisted smile appeared on the person's face. In his eyes, Zhao Hai was clearly seeking death. How could something produced on the Ark Continent compare with what came from their realm? He believed that while Zhao Hai's staff was beautiful, it was simply not on the same level as his sword.
However, to his surprise, just as the staff and sword were about to clash, a hand suddenly extended from the staff, grabbing the sword and bringing its attack to an abrupt halt.
The person was taken aback as he felt his control over the sword waning. Shocked, he hastily executed the spell formula, shouting, "Chì!"
The sword began to tremble violently, as if trying to break free from the staff's grasp. But at that moment, another large hand appeared from the staff, grabbing the other end of the sword. With a forceful pull, there was a loud crack, and the sword was broken in two by the staff.
He was stunned; he did not expect that his Crimson Blood Sword would be shattered by Zhao Hai. At this point, Zhao Hai had effectively demolished two of his magical treasures. He could no longer afford to view Zhao Hai as an ordinary foundation establishment stage practitioner.
The person’s expression darkened. After muttering a few words, he moved his spell formula, retracting the mountain that was pressing down on Zhao Hai, transforming it into a painting within the River and Mountain Fan. He then turned his hand, and the fan disappeared, revealing a large black flag.
This black flag was enormous, with a black pole and a flag face depicted with a vengeful spirit, making it appear sinister and eerie.
The person waved the large flag, and countless vengeful spirits erupted from it. At the same time, the previously clear sky suddenly filled with dark clouds, blocking out the sunlight. It felt as if night had fallen around Zhao Hai. The vengeful spirits shrieked as they lunged at Zhao Hai.
Zhao Hai quietly observed these vengeful spirits, pondering how to break their assault. Suddenly, he noticed they had reached his domain, each one snapping its jaws at it. Zhao Hai felt his domain becoming unstable, which surprised him. He quickly released some undead beings to see if they could deal with these vengeful spirits.
As soon as the undead beings appeared outside his domain, they rushed toward the vengeful spirits. Logically, the vengeful spirits, being incorporeal, should not fear attacks from the undead beings. However, the undead beings did not attack the vengeful spirits. Instead, as they approached, they opened their mouths wide and sucked the vengeful spirits in. The spirits shrieked as they were absorbed, and the undead beings appeared to gain strength, their souls becoming even more vibrant as they charged toward another vengeful spirit.
