Chapter 616: Dangerous Person
The pile of magical beast corpses that had just been stacked like a mountain had now turned into a heap of bones—a heap of blood-red bones, devoid of any flesh, just a pile of bones.
This intense visual impact made the sea tribe people feel a chill in their hearts. At this moment, something even more shocking happened; that pile of bones started to move!
Under the gaze of all the sea tribe people, the bones began to stir one by one. Slowly, the remaining skeletal forms of the magical beasts crawled up and began to swim, gradually lining up in formation, with the larger beasts at the back and the smaller ones towards the front.
Soon, over a hundred thousand magical beasts had formed a cubic formation, filling the sea area to the brim. The sea tribe people couldn’t help but change color and retreat, wanting to distance themselves from these undead beings.
Zhao Hai glanced at the sea tribe people, and with a slight movement, the undead beings suddenly vanished, leaving only two turtle-like magical beasts standing still.
Zhao Hai jumped onto the back of a turtle-shaped undead creature and slightly bowed to Dashan, saying, “Thank you, Commander Dashan. I’ll take the rest of the route myself. I want to find my wife first, so I won’t accompany you any longer.”
After saying that, the sea turtle creature beneath Zhao Hai started to paddle slowly towards Mermaid Island, while Dashan was still in a daze.
It wasn’t until Zhao Hai had entered Mermaid Island that Dashan’s expression changed, returning to his senses. However, his face was now quite unsightly. He turned to look at Zhao Hai, his eyes filled with wariness. In his view, Zhao Hai was too dangerous; this guy could carry over a hundred thousand undead magical beasts with him. Such a person was truly the biggest security risk on Mermaid Island.
Thinking of this, Dashan immediately rode his mount and followed Zhao Hai into Mermaid Island. Zhao Hai was going to look for Laura, while Dashan intended to find Jin Tai. He thought it was completely necessary to monitor Zhao Hai throughout.
Zhao Hai was unaware of Dashan's thoughts as he stood atop the turtle-shaped magical beast, looking around Mermaid Island. Mermaid Island was vast, surrounded by towering rocks, and he could always see some mermaids frolicking on those stones. The scenery was simply breathtaking.
As Zhao Hai made his way, the mermaids also curiously gazed at him. Zhao Hai didn't dare to look too much at these alluring mermaids, not knowing the customs of the sea tribe. He thought that it would be troublesome if he accidentally caused a misunderstanding by staring too much.
However, what puzzled Zhao Hai was that among the mermaids, he didn't see any older ones. These mermaids all appeared incredibly young and beautiful, and not even a single old mermaid could be seen in the palace, even with his surveillance.
Before long, Zhao Hai found Laura and the others. They were sitting on a rock with a few members of the mermaid clan, chatting joyfully.
Meg spotted Zhao Hai at a glance and immediately waved at him. Zhao Hai smiled slightly, directing the turtle to paddle over, and said to Laura, “You all can have fun here. I’ll go discuss some matters with Your Majesty. By the way, keep these sea turtles with you to avoid bothering Commander Jin too much.” After speaking, Zhao Hai produced a few turtle-shaped undead beings and placed them under the rock. Laura and the others nodded, and then Zhao Hai directed the turtle towards the central stone pillar.
When he reached the central stone pillar, Zhao Hai noticed that Dashan and Jin Tai were standing by the stone cave he had entered, talking about something. Their expressions changed upon seeing him.
Zhao Hai scrutinized both of them closely and found Dashan's expression contained both wariness and a hint of fear, while Jin Tai showed a mix of wariness and excitement.
Zhao Hai didn’t care what they were thinking; he was here to cooperate with the mermaid clan, not to make enemies. As long as he didn’t oppose the mermaid clan, he believed they wouldn’t take action against him.
