CHAPTER FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY-ONE: THE WHIP
Although the human race is currently very powerful, far stronger than most alien races, there have been several internal conflicts within the human race, and much historical data has slowly disappeared due to these internal strife.
However, the situation is different for races like the dwarf clan, which is very united internally. They have a historical document that records the development of their race, and it can be said that their historical records are more complete than those of the human race. Therefore, Juno did not dare to underestimate the contents documented in that historical book.
Juno frowned and said, "But the tree of life in the spirit clan hasn’t encountered any accidents, and the five great forbidden areas on the continent haven't been cracked open either. I don't think it will be like what’s recorded in your book, right?"
Billy smiled wryly and replied, "I hope not. Otherwise, that would truly be a huge problem."
Juno sighed, realizing that discussing it further would be of no use; they could only wait for future developments. If the tree of life in the spirit clan really did have problems, then the prophecy might very well turn out to be true.
Juno looked at Billy and asked, "How do you plan to arrange for Zhao Hai in the coming days?"
Billy chuckled, "Haven't I already said? We’ll invite him around. Although Zhao Hai may have discovered the differences regarding the divine artifact, it hasn’t been confirmed yet, so naturally, we cannot follow him."
Juno looked at Billy and said, "Are you really prepared to follow him if it turns out that the tree of life in the spirit clan has problems?"
Billy's eyes shone with firm determination as he nodded vigorously, "Indeed. If it’s confirmed that the prophecy is correct, our dwarf clan will definitely follow him."
Juno shook his head with a wry smile. Although he and Billy were old friends, he really didn’t understand Billy in this regard. To follow Zhao Hai just because of a prophecy seemed too childish to him.
Zhao Hai, however, was unaware of all this. He followed Laura and the others as a dwarf led them to the entrance of a cave. After inviting him in, the dwarf stood at the entrance and said to Zhao Hai, "Sir, if you need anything, just let me know. You can also wander around; it's no problem."
Zhao Hai nodded and thanked the dwarf before entering the cave. Upon entering, he was taken aback; he did not expect the cave to be so well decorated.
The entire cave had its walls and floors covered with wooden planks, making it impossible to tell that it was a cave at all. The room was designed to be more suitable for human habitation, and even the items inside were prepared according to human daily necessities, showing great attention to detail.
Laura and the others were also looking around, surprised by the setup. The cave had been divided into three rooms: a living room and two bedrooms. Since everything was decorated with wooden planks, it had an antique yet elegant feel to it.
Because they were inside a cave, where sunlight did not penetrate, several magical lamps were installed on the ceiling. These magical lamps provided a soft light that was not harsh on the eyes at all.
After a quick look around, Laura returned to the living room and smiled at Zhao Hai, saying, "This place is really nice, much better than the orc tribe. It seems the dwarf clan is living a much better life than the orc tribe."
Zhao Hai smiled and replied, "Of course. The Pagoda Empire doesn't dare to suppress the dwarf clan too much. The items produced by the dwarf clan are of great use to them, and the dwarf clan's income is certainly higher than that of the orc tribe. They have had more contact with the human race for a longer time, so they are better prepared."
Laura laughed and said, "Brother Hai, I think these dwarves are quite easy to talk to. They even let us wander around. It looks like we might stay here for a few days. When do you think we can make contact with the spirit clan through the dwarves?"
