Chapter 552: Anticipation

Wells smiled and said, “Alright, we won't need that this time. You know, we didn’t just raid food this time; we got quite a lot of daily necessities too.”

Zhao Hai chuckled, “I heard you guys got a good haul in the Versailles Principality and the Iksa Family territories. Well, you don’t need to send me anything this time. Just let me know when you need something next time, and by the way, I’ll leave you fifty Blood Eagles. These guys are excellent for aerial reconnaissance. But unfortunately, your size makes it impossible for you to ride on their backs.”

Hearing this, Wells was pleasantly surprised and said, “Great! This is exactly what I need, so I won’t be polite.”

Zhao Hai laughed, “No need to be polite with me. By the way, is the food ready? I’m starving, and I need to head to Beast God City tomorrow. It’s been a long time since I was there; I wonder how things are going.”

Wells paused and asked, “You came directly from the human race? I thought you had already gone to Beast God City.”

Zhao Hai smiled slightly, “Why would I rush to Beast God City? There’s really nothing crucial going on. The things you’ve looted recently should be enough for us. I think business there won’t be that great either, so there shouldn’t be anything significant happening.”

Wells looked at Zhao Hai with gratitude and said, “Brother, I won’t say much about your kindness. Let’s go drink! If I don’t get you drunk today, it would be a disservice to you.”

Zhao Hai laughed heartily, “I’m not afraid of you! Do you think my drinking capacity is still the same as before? Who falls first is still uncertain.” With that, they all laughed heartily and walked outside.

Now that Zhao Hai was at the Herculean Bull Tribe, Wells no longer needed to instruct anyone to prepare items. The Herculean Bull Tribe had people ready to prepare food for Zhao Hai. These people didn’t just take Zhao Hai’s wine for free; every time Zhao Hai visited, they would bring out their best food for him. Even if they hadn’t cooked at home, they would hunt mountain goats to entertain Zhao Hai.

Once outside, they found that the mountain goat and Mighty Bull were already roasted. What surprised Zhao Hai were two large rat-like creatures roasting on the fire, which piqued his curiosity.

As soon as Wells saw those two rat-like creatures, his eyes lit up, “Grass Mongooses? Who brought these good things?”

A plump Herculean Bull Tribesman walked over with a smile, holding something that was bound like a rice dumpling, and put it in front of Zhao Hai, “Young Master Hai, today I went out and caught three Grass Mongooses. I was planning to eat them myself, but since you’re here, I cooked them up. I also know you like these rare delicacies, so I saved one for you.”

Zhao Hai looked curiously at the Grass Mongoose. It resembled a large rat but had grass-green fur, with a pair of black, shiny eyes that looked very adorable.

Seeing Zhao Hai’s expression, Wells smiled and said, “This Grass Mongoose is a unique magical beast found on the Orc Prairie. It’s not very high in level, just level three, but it’s very fast. They usually hide in the grass, and their green fur makes them hard to spot. However, they are rare delicacies. When preparing this, remember that it’s best to keep its original flavor. When cooking, just add a bit of salt, and don’t add anything else for the best taste.”

After finishing, Wells turned to the plump Bullman and said, “Doss, you really need to watch yourself. Look at how fat you’ve gotten! If you get any fatter, people will start calling you a pighead tribesman. By the way, were there many Grass Mongooses in the prairie today? How did you manage to catch three at once?”

Doss didn’t mind and smiled, “Clan leader, I was just going to tell you about this. I noticed there seemed to be quite a few more Grass Mongooses around us than usual. Should we look into it?”

Wells frowned. He was well aware that although these mongooses tasted great, they caused significant damage to grasslands. If there were too many around any tribe, they would need to conduct special hunts, or it could affect grazing.
