Chapter 516: The Friendship Flag of the Black Bear Tribe (Subscription Requested)

The orc tribes are quite peculiar; if you give them any gift, no matter how valuable, they will accept it without hesitation. Even if they know you are helping them, they will still gladly accept. However, if you take out alcohol while eating, unless you are as close as family, they will think you look down on them, and that can lead to serious trouble.

Nevertheless, the authentic orc barbecue has its unique flavor. This was Megan and Lily's first time drinking pure orc milk wine, and they didn’t find it too unfamiliar; after all, they had drunk refined milk wine before, and the taste wasn’t too different.

During this meal, Zhao Hai and the others ate their fill and drank a good amount of wine. As guests in the orc tribe, the more you eat, the happier they become.

After the meal, it was getting late, so Zhao Hai and the others returned to their tent. It was clear that talking about grain trade with the bear race was off the table for today.

Once Zhao Hai entered the tent, he thought no one would come anymore, but Mendes and Buffon arrived, leaving Zhao Hai a bit stunned. He quickly asked Laura to invite them in.

Both of them still had a hint of drunkenness on their faces, but it was obvious they were not drunk. Zhao Hai hurried to prepare Spatial Water for them, but they did not touch it. Buffon looked at Zhao Hai and said, “Little Hai, we just informed the black bear clan leader about the Church of Light, but it seems we might have told them a bit too early.”

Zhao Hai was taken aback, while Mendes expressed his guilt, saying, “Yes, we spoke too soon. The Black Bear Tribe is short on grain, yet they haven’t rushed to discuss grain with you. It seems they want to wait until the war starts and then raid the human race for food, so they don’t plan to buy much from you. Really, who says bear people are straightforward? Why are they so calculative? This is too untrustworthy.”

Hearing this, Zhao Hai understood the situation and couldn't help but smile. “It’s fine, you’re overthinking it. The Black Bear Tribe is in trouble, so it’s normal for them to want to buy less grain. To be honest, if it weren’t for the orc tribes being in desperate need of food, I wouldn’t have brought out these breadfruits. In my territory, I’m currently brewing wine from breadfruits. If it goes well, the income will multiply compared to the breadfruits, so you don’t need to worry.”

Mendes sighed, “Thank you, Little Hai. If there were more humans like you, I think the orc tribes and the human race would never have to go to war.”

Zhao Hai chuckled, “Humans are ambitious. As long as there is ambition, war won’t stop. It will happen sooner or later. With my own strength, I can’t change much; I can only help those I can.”

Mendes and Buffon sighed, both knowing Zhao Hai was right. Ambition is something no one can control; not just the human race, but even the orc tribes are the same. Otherwise, the Bullfighting Tribe incident wouldn't have happened.

Buffon looked at Zhao Hai and asked, “So, Little Hai, what are your plans next?”

Zhao Hai smiled, “I want to check out Beast God City. Now that things here are basically settled, even the tribes friendly with the Black Bear Tribe are from the Great War Tribe. They may not be in short supply of grain. And if things really escalate, war might break out, leading to fewer people wanting to buy grain. But I just want to take a look at Orc City. If a war truly breaks out, I’m afraid my identity as a human will make me the least welcome person on the prairie.”

Buffon snorted, “I don’t know about other human merchants, but you definitely will be fine. Don’t forget, you’re now a foreign prince consort of the Herculean Bull Tribe, which makes you half-orc. It’s a pity you have to go to Beast God City now; if you could return to the tribe with me, we might have been able to finalize the dog-headed tribe’s friendship flag.”
