Chapter 501: Wedding (Please Subscribe)
Ten days is truly a short time for the people on the continent. In the blink of an eye, ten days have passed. Golden Island has been bustling for these ten days, with all the prominent nobles from the continent arriving. There simply aren't enough houses on Golden Island, and many nobles have had to set up tents.
Seeing the situation, Zhao Hai had no choice but to go to Golden Island immediately, bringing many large tents used by the orc tribe. Each tent is large enough to accommodate an entire orc family, and it's even more than enough for humans.
Many of the big nobles had never seen such tents before, and in the end, a lot of them started to request to stay in the tents rather than in houses.
Sitting in the tents and looking at the green grass all around, those nobles suddenly felt as if they had arrived on the prairie. However, some knowledgeable nobles noticed the difference in the grass.
All the grass was Silk Grass, which is very tough and cannot be used for drinking magical beasts, but it is excellent for making medicine and weaving things. Some lesser nobles, upon seeing this grass, immediately understood its value and couldn't help but have their eyes shine.
On the day of Zhao Hai's wedding, Golden Island was already overcrowded. Not to mention other places; just the dock was so crowded that no ships could dock.
Zhao Hai and the others arrived three days later, with Laura and the others accompanying him, including Lily. Zhao Hai was a bit surprised when he saw Lily.
During Divine Grace Day, when Zhao Hai last saw Lily, she was full of spirit, embodying a princess's demeanor. However, upon seeing her now, she looked completely different, with a sallow complexion, and her body appeared very weak. She had lost at least twenty pounds since he last saw her, and could be described as skin and bones.
Seeing Lily like this made Laura and the others feel a pang of heartache. They understood what it felt like for a woman to be separated from her beloved. Lily was undoubtedly troubled by love.
When Zhao Hai saw Lily's appearance, he felt a deep pain in his heart. Yes, he didn't have deep feelings for her yet, but he could feel Lily's affection for him, which moved him greatly.
After nearly ten days of recuperation, Lily had already changed significantly. Compared to a few days ago, she had recovered a lot, and her health was nearly back to normal.
Zhao Hai was very pleased to see Lily’s body improving day by day, and the way Lily looked at Zhao Hai almost melted him.
Once they arrived at Golden Island, Zhao Hai arranged for Laura and the others to stay at the military base to make the final preparations. Everyone thought Zhao Hai would hold the wedding at the military base, but only Zhao Hai knew this was just a ruse.
The true wedding venue, Flower Fortress, had already been prepared by Zhao Hai at the top of Dingzi Mountain. It was under strict surveillance, so no one could enter or discover what was happening there.
Today was finally the official wedding day. According to the customs of the Ark Continent, Zhao Hai was supposed to go to the bride’s house to fetch the bride, and then return to his home to complete the wedding ceremony.
However, due to their special situation, they had to conduct everything on Golden Island. Laura and the others waited at the military base while Zhao Hai drove to pick them up.
All the guests invited to witness the ceremony were directed to Dingzi Mountain and arranged outside Flower Fortress. However, the fortress was shrouded in black mist, making it impossible for anyone to see inside.
The nobles had no idea what was happening. They assumed the wedding would be held at the military base, so they were puzzled as to why they were arranged here. Seeing the large black mist surrounded by undead beings made them feel uneasy. They had heard that every time Zhao Hai transformed someone into an undead being, black mist would appear. Many nobles thought to themselves, “Could Zhao Hai be planning to turn us into undead beings for his wedding celebration?”
