Chapter Four Hundred Ninety-Nine: The Wedding Date is Set (Seeking Subscriptions)
Zhao Hai was momentarily stunned; he had not actually considered holding the wedding on Golden Island. After all, there was nothing there. He envisioned a grand wedding in the castle here; that would be much more impressive.
Seeing Zhao Hai frowning and not speaking, Galen asked in confusion, “What’s wrong, young master? Isn’t it good to go to Golden Island?”
Zhao Hai sighed and said, “Grandpa Galen, Golden Island is well-built, but it consists mostly of caves, and there aren’t any decent buildings. Holding a wedding there might not be good.”
Galen thought for a moment and nodded, “That does pose a problem. Golden Island is still under construction, and holding a wedding there would indeed seem too simple.”
Laura interjected, “Brother Hai, Grandpa Galen, I don’t quite agree. Golden Island is our territory, so we have the final say. It’s different from Karsen City. If we’re getting married and someone tries to disrupt it, a fight will surely break out. Brother Hai, while our reputation is formidable now, it’s best not to reveal my true strength. Regardless of what happens on Golden Island, the king of the Roson Empire won't care. But if we cause a ruckus in Karsen City and reveal a strength that even the Roson Empire fears, it could lead to trouble. Therefore, I believe it’s better to marry on Golden Island.”
When Laura and the others first heard Zhao Hai say he wanted to get married, they were indeed a bit shy, but that feeling was long gone. They had long wished to marry Zhao Hai, and now their wish was finally coming true. Their joy outweighed their shyness. Besides, they were not ordinary girls and would not react like typical young ladies.
Hearing Laura’s words, Zhao Hai calmed down. He had already offended the Aksu Empire, and the forces of the Church of Light were quite strong in the other two empires. If he went there, it wouldn’t yield good results. For now, he could only rely on the Roson Empire. If the Roson Empire really couldn’t accommodate him, he might have to spend his life on his Golden Island, which he didn’t want. Thus, he needed to consider the feelings of the Roson Empire.
After thinking for a moment, Zhao Hai nodded, “It’s just a pity. Although the environment on Golden Island is nice now, there are no buildings. If we hold our wedding there, it would truly be too much of a shame for you all.”
Laura smiled and replied, “It’s fine, Brother Hai, it’s not a shame at all. Our budah family’s reputation on the continent is quite formidable. Who would dare to look down on us? Don’t worry; even if we hold the wedding on a deserted island, no one would say anything.”
Zhao Hai looked at Laura and smiled slightly, “Okay, then it’s settled. Tomorrow I’ll discuss the wedding date with Grandpa Lando. Once it’s set, we’ll make the invitations immediately. Here’s the plan: I’ll let the universal machine create the invitations, leaving only the date blank. Once the date is determined, we can fill it in.”
Galen and the others nodded in agreement. They discussed some details about the wedding, such as reception arrangements, food, drinks, and supplies. They needed to ensure everything was well-prepared because Zhao Hai’s status was extraordinary, and the guests attending would certainly also be of high status. If they were not satisfied, it could offend some people.
Fortunately, Galen was experienced in managing such matters, so Zhao Hai didn't need to worry about them; Galen would handle everything.
Now that the space had an abundance of supplies, it was quite simple for Galen to arrange things. Plus, he had over a million undead beings at his disposal, making the task exceedingly easy.
After finalizing their plans, Zhao Hai and the others went to rest. Zhao Hai returned to his room, lay on the bed, and continued to ponder the situation on Golden Island.
After a month of construction, several shops had sprung up on Golden Island. However, most of them were made of stone, quarried by the undead beings. The best building on the island could be said to be the five-story Shelley Hotel owned by the Shelley family. There weren’t many decent structures, and holding a wedding there would indeed be too much of a shame for Laura and the others. Zhao Hai didn’t want them to have lifelong regrets.
