Chapter 485: Do It in the Great Hall
Zhao Hai walked to the outside of the Hall of Government Affairs, and the eunuch in front of the hall immediately announced loudly, "Zhao Hai Budah requests an audience!"
Zhao Hai glanced at the eunuch, took a deep breath, and slowly walked into the great hall. As he entered, he discreetly surveyed his surroundings. The hall was already filled with a number of people. He recognized several familiar faces, including the grand prince, the second prince, Charlie, Lando, Jason’s grandfather, and a few nobles he had encountered during a previous banquet. To his surprise, these individuals were seated in two rows on either side of the hall.
In the center of the hall, there was a small platform where a man sat. He was on a chair made of gold and silver, adorned with numerous gemstones, and covered with a layer of animal skin, giving it a soft and comfortable appearance.
The man was not very tall and had a refined appearance, even somewhat delicate. His hair was slightly graying, but his complexion was rosy. He wore a golden crown on his head and held a staff in his hand. This staff was not very long, only about forty centimeters, made entirely of gold and silver, with a large gemstone inlaid on top; it was not a magic staff but a scepter, a symbol of authority.
The man wore very luxurious clothing. Although he looked refined, he exuded an aura that commanded submission. He simply sat there, calmly observing Zhao Hai, who felt a pressure emanating from the man. This pressure was not intended to make things difficult for Zhao Hai; it was a general aura that affected everyone present, but it was still quite strong.
"This man should be the king of the Roson Empire!" Zhao Hai thought to himself. He quickly snapped back to reality and slowly walked five meters closer to the man. He performed a deep 90-degree bow and then straightened up, saying, "Zhao Hai Budah pays his respects to Your Majesty; may Your Majesty live long!"
The king of the Lorin Empire glanced at Zhao Hai and nodded, saying, "You are Zhao Hai? Good, young man. Very impressive. You are the one who discovered the Robert family using absolute magic isolation powder?"
Zhao Hai quickly replied, "Yes, Your Majesty. The Robert family attacked me using absolute magic isolation powder, which is how I found out."
The king nodded, looking at Zhao Hai, "You are a mage? Why is it that when the Robert family attacked you with absolute magic isolation powder, you were unscathed?"
Zhao Hai was taken aback for a moment, but then he realized that Lando might not have informed the king about his dual cultivation of magic and martial arts nor about his immunity to the absolute magic isolation powder, as he wanted to keep a trump card.
With that thought, Zhao Hai quickly said, "In response to Your Majesty, I am not just a mage; I am also a warrior, an eighth-level warrior, so the absolute magic isolation powder does not affect me." Zhao Hai did not mention his immunity to the absolute magic isolation powder, as this was his trump card. Compared to this, revealing that he was a warrior was nothing to hide.
Once Zhao Hai said this, all the nobles in the great hall were stunned for a moment before they began whispering to each other. They had long known that Zhao Hai was a mage and an eighth-level mage at that, but they had not expected him to also be a warrior, an eighth-level warrior!
