Chapter 437: The Next Plan
None of the major powers on the continent expected the war to end so quickly, and it was surprisingly fast for everyone.
The war ended too abruptly and too swiftly, and the victorious side was the seemingly disadvantaged Versailles Family. All the discerning individuals on the continent could see that the victory in this grand battle was entirely due to Zhao Hai.
They did not anticipate that Zhao Hai was actually a member of the Budah Family, nor did they expect that this dark mage would perform so powerfully on the battlefield, with his enemies merely waiting to be killed. The main characteristic of a dark mage is that they can control an increasing number of armies. Of course, for an average dark mage, the number of undead beings they can control is limited, but this issue seems nonexistent with Zhao Hai. He can currently control about one hundred thousand undead beings, which is nearly the number a seventh-level expert specializing in summoning magic could command.
While almost every dark mage can summon undead beings, there are some dark mages who specialize in this summoning technique. These individuals devote all their energy to mastering this art, allowing them to control around one hundred thousand undead beings when they reach the peak of the sixth or seventh level.
However, the undead beings they control are merely ordinary ones, incomparable to Zhao Hai's.
But those who had not faced Zhao Hai directly were unaware of just how powerful his undead beings were. Therefore, while they were shocked that Zhao Hai could control one hundred thousand undead beings, they did not focus on this matter; instead, they were concerned with a few other issues.
First, Zhao Hai's identity. When he revealed the mad dragon war banner, they already recognized him as Adam from the Budah Family, who had changed his name to Zhao Hai. This astonished everyone on the continent.
It is worth noting that the Budah Family was not particularly famous before, as they were just a rising family in the Aksu Empire, and did not seem remarkable in the eyes of many. However, since the Budah Family was exiled to the Black Earth Wilderness, they gained notoriety. Everyone on the continent understood what the Black Earth Wilderness represented; being sent there was akin to a death sentence, which led people to remember the Budah Family.
Secondly, there was an antidote for the poison of Void Water! This was a heavy blow to those great families and the Church of Light on the continent. Previously, the great families aligned with the Church of Light had used Void Water as a deterrent weapon specifically designed to intimidate those powerful individuals. No expert was willing to lose their abilities, as it was even more unbearable than death.
Because of this, many experts had no choice but to ally with those great families or the Church of Light, as only they had access to Void Water.
However, with the antidote now available, it was undoubtedly good news for many experts, as they no longer had to fear the poison of Void Water. Of course, this was also a significant setback for the Church of Light.
The third concern was regarding the ninth-level experts. This time, the Church of Light and Boric had dispatched four ninth-level experts and two high-ranking aberrant mages. Yet, with such a formidable lineup, they were all wiped out in less than two hours, leaving everyone watching the war with dry throats and racing hearts; it was terrifying.
Compared to the outcome of the war, these issues were what the major powers on the continent paid attention to. At the same time, those forces controlled by the Church of Light had to seriously acknowledge the role dark mages played on the battlefield.
A prolonged absence of war had caused some to forget the terrifying aspects of dark mages, as well as their benefits.
However, the recent war in the Versailles Principality allowed everyone to see the prowess of dark mages once again. Dark mages could undoubtedly alter the outcome of a war, and this was a consensus among all observers.
