CHAPTER 43: Refreshing
After everything was in order, Merlin taught the slaves to recognize some characters for a while before arranging for everyone to go to bed. The temperature in the space was very comfortable, neither too cold nor too hot. There was no need for blankets during sleep; the slaves simply spread a layer of bedding on the ground and were able to sleep soundly.
In the middle of the night, Zhao Hai was awakened by the prompt sound from the space. He had to get up to harvest radishes again and plant more radishes.
Originally, Zhao Hai wanted to plant the seeds that Merlin and the others had bought, but he was too tired and just wanted to sleep well. So he had to choose to plant radishes instead; otherwise, when the space upgraded, the commotion would be too great. Not only would he be unable to sleep, but everyone in the space would probably be unable to sleep as well.
When he got up the next morning, not only were the radishes ready, but even the corn was nearing maturity. Perhaps it was because the space was too comfortable, everyone got up a bit late.
Zhao Hai woke up because he heard some noise outside. When he went out, he saw that the slaves were already up and cooking under Merlin's organization. Zhao Hai didn't pay much attention; Merlin quickly brought a basin of water to him for washing up.
After Zhao Hai washed up, he first checked the land in the space; there were no changes. Then he went to see what the slaves were cooking, but nothing was particularly special.
However, suddenly Zhao Hai sensed something was off. The area where the slaves were cooking was too clean. Yesterday, there was a mess of discarded fried rice and other remnants, but today, there was no trace of it at all. This seemed a bit strange, right? Even if the slaves had cleaned up, it shouldn’t be this spotless.
Zhao Hai turned to Meg, who was following him, and asked, “Meg, did Grandma Merlin have the slaves clean up the garbage this morning?”
Meg was taken aback by Zhao Hai's question. After glancing around at the clean grass, she shook her head and said, “No, Grandma didn’t make them work this morning.”
Zhao Hai nodded and had a guess in his mind. He turned and walked towards the back of the house. This time, Meg didn’t follow because she was well aware of what was at the back of the house; it was the toilet, and Zhao Hai was going to relieve himself.
Actually, Meg guessed wrong this time. Zhao Hai was not going to relieve himself; he wanted to check the toilet at the back to confirm his suspicion.
As soon as Zhao Hai stepped into the toilet, he knew his guess was correct. The space refreshed its environment once a day, meaning that every day, it would erase all useless things and restore the space to its original state.
The reason the grass huts they built didn’t disappear was likely that those huts were useful items, so the space didn't erase them.
Seeing this, Zhao Hai couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. He was currently troubled about how to deal with the garbage issue in the space, and he didn’t expect the space to solve this problem for him.
Feeling good about this, Zhao Hai took care of his needs before returning to the grass hut. Meg was standing there waiting for him. When she saw Zhao Hai return with a pleased expression, she couldn’t help but blush. She wanted to ask Zhao Hai why he was so happy, but she didn’t know how to bring it up, especially since he had just come out of the toilet.
Zhao Hai didn’t notice Meg’s reaction at all. He was in a good mood because the space's ability to automatically erase garbage was fantastic, and he no longer had to worry about garbage affecting the space.
When Zhao Hai got up, Merlin was directing the slaves to cook. When she saw that Zhao Hai was awake, she naturally went into the hut to prepare breakfast for him.
Zhao Hai wanted to see what was happening outside, so he also went into the hut and opened the screen to check the situation outside. From the 3D map, the situation outside was improving. Within a radius of one hundred meters, there were hardly any magical beasts left; only a few green dots were still moving on the map.
