Chapter 415: Return to Jadewater

However, the cave was not very useful for Zhao Hai, as there were better places to hide things than that cave. But for Little Gold and the others, it had some utility because that cave could be used to store some breadfruit.

To be honest, there really wasn't much on Monkey Head Island. Other than Little Gold and the others, there were just those breadfruit trees. It was strange that nothing else seemed to grow on this island besides breadfruit trees, which made Zhao Hai very curious.

Although he was curious, Zhao Hai didn't have the ability to investigate why; the final conclusion he reached was that it might be due to the presence of the Vajra Fruit trees.

Even though Zhao Hai was on Monkey Head Island, he was still quite concerned about the situation over at Stone Quarry Island. However, he soon realized that his worries were unnecessary. Sending those undead beings to quarry stones was indeed a very good choice. The undead beings could turn themselves into skeletons and didn't need any tools for stone quarrying, especially after Zhao Hai sent the Stone Spirit Duo to the island, which made quarrying even easier. The best magic they used was summoning stone giants. When they summoned a few stone men on the island, it was equivalent to extracting the stones directly. Zhao Hai never expected that quarrying could be done this way.

This time, Zhao Hai and the others stayed on Monkey Head Island for more than a month. Of course, they didn't stay there every day; sometimes they would return to Iron Mountain Fortress to check things out and practice martial arts in the space.

Now, Zhao Hai spent most of his time practicing martial arts. After more than a month of training, his strength had greatly improved, and he should now be able to match an ordinary seventh-level warrior.

During these days, Zhao Hai also had some excellent sparring partners, namely Little Gold and the others. The forces from these big families were quite strong and agile, so he used them for sparring, which was quite effective.

In addition to practicing martial arts, Zhao Hai was also learning how to control metal. Now he could control a piece of metal the size of a soccer ball, freely changing its shape. To enable himself to communicate with metal anywhere, Zhao Hai took a day to transform that soccer ball-sized piece of metal into a piece of inner armor, which he wore on his body.

This inner armor resembled a scale armor. Because of this, it took him quite a while to wear it. He also discovered that the more he tried to control the metal finely, the harder it became. The more complex the items he wanted to create from metal, the more difficult it was.

However, Zhao Hai also found that once the armor was made, it was no longer so difficult to create another piece of armor. This relieved him.

A month quickly passed, and now Zhao Hai and the gorillas on Monkey Head Island were very familiar with each other. They even gave each gorilla a name, and the gorillas were quite fond of being around Zhao Hai.

In just over a month, their quarrying team, under the efforts of the undead beings, had nearly flattened the small island. The island had now been dug into a volcanic shape, with a large hole excavated in the center that reached down into the sea. Only the stones around the edge of the island remained, because if they dug those out as well, the island would be submerged by the sea.

Although only a little over a month had passed, they had gathered a large amount of stone. While it wasn't enough to expand Iron Mountain Fortress, it was about enough to build houses for ten thousand people.

Zhao Hai knew it was time to return. He called back the undead beings to the space and immediately boarded a boat heading for Jadewater City.

During this period, Zhao Hai hadn't received any letters from Smith and wasn't sure what the Karlqi Family thought about them seizing twenty of their ships. Were they planning to continue targeting him, or were they considering negotiating?
