CHAPTER 359: Plum Blossom Princess

After handing the wine to the servant, Shun Yi stepped back behind Laura. Laura bowed slightly to Meigen and said, "Then we shall not disturb the young lady's elegance." After saying this, she swiftly retreated back into the room, and Shun Yi naturally followed her inside.

Meigen and her companions were momentarily stunned by this situation. They were all members of their families who held lesser status, either as distant relatives or as direct descendants who were not valued, so they had not had the opportunity to experience such situations. They were at a loss for how to react.

After a while, Meigen finally came to her senses. She glanced at the tightly shut door and, gritting her teeth, turned to her companions and said, "Let’s go, to Merlin."

The others looked at Meigen, seemingly confused about her intention. In their view, when there were people in the courtyard, they should have withdrawn; that was basic courtesy among nobles.

Meigen smiled at them and said, "That gentleman has already given us a bag of wine; it would be rude to not appreciate his kindness, wouldn’t it? Let’s go, to Merlin."

Upon hearing Meigen's words, the others were taken aback for a moment, but then they cheered and followed her into Merlin, no longer appearing to have any interest in admiring the plum blossoms.

Zhao Hai, hearing their cheers, smiled but said nothing. He picked up a cup of milk tea from the table and took a sip. Zhao Hai enjoyed the taste of milk tea; it reminded him of the tea he liked to drink, though it was lighter than Kaya's. However, because it contained milk, it felt smoother, which Zhao Hai liked very much.

Laura looked at Zhao Hai and couldn't help but smile slightly, saying, "Brother Hai, you won’t get into trouble for giving them that wine, will you? It was strong liquor in a ten-jin bag."

Zhao Hai smiled slightly and replied, "Isn't it better if they drink too much? It’s a good opportunity for us to promote ourselves."

Laura and the others laughed even harder, knowing full well that this promotion was not a good thing; it was clearly a way to tease those people.

When Meigen and her group arrived in the small garden of Merlin, a servant immediately set up a cloth to enclose the area, leaving only one exit. Then, they lit a charcoal stove inside, and another servant placed a water kettle on the stove specifically for warming the wine. A few small dishes were also placed on the table, but it was obvious that these dishes were merely for decoration, as no one intended to eat them.

However, it was clear that the group accompanying Meigen had lost all interest in admiring the plums and were now focused on the wine bag held by the servant.

These individuals rarely came into contact with business in their families, so many had never seen an orc tribe's wine bag before. When they saw the servant holding a leather bag, they felt immense curiosity.

Meigen, however, recognized it. She glanced at the leather bag in the servant's hand and nodded, saying, "This should be the orc tribe's milk wine. It looks like we can try something new today, warm wine."

The servant immediately acknowledged her and carefully poured the wine into a jug, then placed it on the stove. Meigen, however, was taken aback. She looked at the jug of wine and said in confusion, "This doesn't seem right. I remember milk wine being milky white; why is this wine transparent?"

A girl next to her nodded and added, "Yeah, I've had milk wine at home before; it was indeed milky white, looking like goat's milk. But this wine looks just like water. It can't possibly be water, can it?"

However, it was clear that everyone else did not believe her words because the aroma of the wine had already filled the garden. A few boys who often drank wine couldn't help but sniff the air, and one of them said, "This wine smells wonderful! I’ve never smelled such fragrant wine before; I just wonder how it tastes."

The others nodded in agreement; they, too, had noticed that the wine smelled incredibly fragrant. A strange scene unfolded in the garden, with everyone staring at the jug of wine, completely ignoring the blooming plum blossoms outside.
