CHAPTER 354: Thirteenth Young Master

Zhao Hai took note that Wanhao had likely cleared the restaurant beforehand. Inside, only one table had dishes on it while the rest of the tables were empty. Several neatly dressed waiters stood around the restaurant, but they all wore expressions of helplessness as they looked at the young man who was eating and drinking heartily at the table.

Seeing this situation, Zhao Hai quickly understood that this young man must be from the Shelley family, and his status was certainly not low. Otherwise, those waiters would not have left him alone.

As soon as Wanhao spotted the young man, his expression changed, and he looked at him with a bitter smile, stepping forward a couple of paces to say, "Thirteenth Young Master, you're here."

However, the young man ignored Wanhao completely and continued to eat without a care. Wells stepped forward and bowed respectfully, saying, "Wells pays his respects to the Thirteenth Young Master."

The Thirteenth Young Master was somewhat more polite to Wells. He looked up and said, "Wells, why are you out here?"

Wells smiled and said, "I was ordered by the family to protect Mr. Wells." After speaking, he stepped aside to introduce, "This is Mr. Wells, the family has instructed to treat him with the courtesy of a distinguished guest."

Wells's words were actually a reminder to the young man to be mindful of his attitude toward Zhao Hai. The Shelley family, being an old noble family, provided systematic education to its direct descendants. Those born into the family would receive the most formal noble education and would certainly embody the standard of a noble.

Of course, they were not only taught that. Being a business family, they also instilled a sense of business acumen from a young age. A successful businessman must navigate social situations with finesse, and the descendants of the Shelley family certainly excelled in this regard.

However, there are always one or two misfits in such families, and the Thirteenth Young Master was one of them. He received the same education as his brothers but stood out as the most peculiar and troublesome member of the family.

Though he learned a lot, he did not apply it appropriately. He was the only playboy in the Shelley family, the kind that caused trouble without fear. Apart from a few elders in the family, he showed disdain for everyone else. Recently, he had a confrontation with Duke Ryan's son, and the subsequent actions Duke Ryan took against the Shelley Hotel were not unrelated to that incident.

The Thirteenth Young Master's mother came from a powerful family, which gave her a prominent status within the Shelley family. Possibly because of this, he was quite arrogant within the family, even looking down on his older brothers.

Because of this, the Thirteenth Young Master became the most troublesome character in the Shelley family. Outside the family, he showed no respect to anyone, including loyal servants like Wanhao, and often got into trouble, forcing the Shelley family to clean up after him.

However, as the Thirteenth Young Master of the Shelley family with an extremely powerful mother, no one in the family dared to be disrespectful to him. Even elders like Wanhao had to treat him with great respect.

This only fueled his rebelliousness. In recent days, the business he ruined in the Shelley family was countless, and many people had grievances against him. Fortunately, for the sake of the Shelley family's reputation, no serious actions were taken against him; they merely regarded him as an immature child.

Originally, Wanhao had received word that this young master wouldn’t arrive in Tianshui City for another three days. He thought there would be no issue, but no one expected this young master to show up today and come to the restaurant to eat and drink; it was indeed extremely rude.

Wanhao glanced at Zhao Hai and found that Zhao Hai didn’t seem angry; instead, he looked at the young master with an amused expression as if watching a show, even sporting a smile.
