Chapter 252: Three Professions
Zhao Hai's performance had a hint of showmanship. He wasn't afraid that Wells would suspect him; he simply wanted them to know that he possessed a piece of space equipment.
Space equipment was far too mysterious for the orc tribe. As of now, they didn't have a single piece of it, and that lack of experience only made them believe it was even more extraordinary, as if the space within such equipment could hold an entire continent.
After realizing this, Zhao Hai decided to demonstrate this ability in front of Wells and the others. He still hoped to collaborate with them, because no matter what, if Wells became the clan leader of the Herculean Bull Tribe, he would surely repay Zhao Hai, who had always helped him. Zhao Hai didn't need to gain too much from Wells; as long as they could become friends, he would face far fewer troubles in the Orc Prairie.
No matter how impressive other humans might be in the Orc Prairie, the orcs ultimately held the real power there. Establishing a good relationship with the orc tribe was essential for survival on the Orc Prairie.
The Herculean Bull Tribe held a status on the prairie that was not lower than that of any typical warrior tribe. This status was absolutely not to be underestimated. Even some smaller tribes would think twice before provoking them, as the orcs on the prairie, although combative, were not all like the crazed jackals.
On another note, Zhao Hai had grain in hand, which he intended to sell. It didn't matter to whom he sold it; even if Wells failed, it had nothing to do with him. He was merely selling grain to Wells, and if others came to buy grain from him, they would pay the same price. The price wasn't lowered just because of Wells.
Of course, the main reason Zhao Hai dared to act this way in front of Wells and the others was that Wells needed the food he had. As long as Wells required his grain, he wouldn't disclose Zhao Hai's possession of space equipment, so there was nothing to fear.
Wells and the others watched Zhao Hai perform, sitting there in stunned silence. They really didn't know what to say; Zhao Hai's display was simply astonishing.
After a while, Wells suddenly leaped up and exclaimed, "Good heavens, Brother Zhao Hai, you actually have space equipment! And you're using it to store food—are you crazy?"
Zhao Hai looked at Wells in confusion, "Isn't space equipment meant for storing things? What's the problem?"
What problem? That question left Wells speechless. Indeed, wasn't space equipment meant for storing things? So what was the issue with storing food?
Wells felt a bit dizzy, and after a while, he finally said, "This is a huge problem! Do you know how precious space equipment is? Our orc tribe still doesn't have a single piece! You actually dare to use space equipment to store grain? That's such a waste!"
Zhao Hai smiled and replied, "My brother Wells, for me, this grain represents money—my entire wealth. If I don't use space equipment for storage, what else can I use? Moreover, only by using space equipment can I transport this grain to the prairie at the fastest speed, escaping from those detestable border soldiers."
Wells remained silent for a moment before finally exhaling deeply. Looking at Zhao Hai, he laughed heartily, "My brother Zhao Hai, I must thank you! If you hadn't used space equipment to transport that grain to the prairie, I would have been finished. My brother, do you have all your grain with you?"
Zhao Hai nodded, "I have it all with me, and as long as you're willing, I can transport more grain from my territory at any time. I think in a while, I can even acquire over a hundred million pounds of grain."
Wells looked at Zhao Hai in disbelief, "Transport from your territory at any time? Are you saying you carry your territory with you?"
Zhao Hai and Laura laughed. They found it amusing that Wells had guessed correctly, while Wells thought Zhao Hai was laughing at his joke and didn’t take it seriously.
Zhao Hai chuckled, "Of course not! But I have a magical beast, a flying eagle. I can entrust my space equipment to the eagle and have it fly back to my territory to transport my grain here. That way, it saves a lot of time, doesn't it?"
