Wells invited Zhao Hai into his tent. Compared to Spill’s tent, Wells' tent was much more luxurious. The tent was furnished with exquisite wool carpets, and there were tables and chairs inside, which were uncommon on the Orc Prairie. Moreover, most of the utensils in the tent were made of silver, which highlighted the extraordinary status of the host.
However, what surprised Zhao Hai was that there were no women or children in the entire camp. Among the hundreds of people present, besides the warriors, there were only Wells and the prophets, with no one else around.
Once seated in the tent, a warrior from the Herculean Bull Tribe promptly brought them milk tea. Wells raised his cup and said, “Brother Zhao Hai, I want to thank you for your help today. Otherwise, it would have been quite difficult to deal with those earth dogs. By the way, I forgot to introduce you. This is my teacher, Prophet Yale.”
Zhao Hai stood up to salute Yale. It was essential to show respect to the orc prophets, a rule that every human visiting the prairie should remember.
After bowing, Zhao Hai addressed Yale, “Hello, esteemed prophet. This is my fiancée, Laura. This is also my fiancée, Meg, and this is Ni'er.” Zhao Hai introduced Laura and Meg to Wells and Yale, marking the first time he publicly acknowledged Meg as his fiancée.
Laura had asked Zhao Hai to introduce Meg this way, believing it would be fair to her.
Upon hearing Zhao Hai's introduction, Meg couldn’t help but blush, but inside, she felt a surge of joy. Her status was finally confirmed, which dispelled any lingering worries she had.
Wells did not seem surprised by Zhao Hai's introduction. It was not uncommon for men among both humans and orcs to have multiple wives. In fact, things were even more exaggerated among the orcs. It was said that there was a clan leader from the horse tribe who had over thirty wives and was nicknamed "Stud Horse."
Wells politely saluted Laura and Meg, then everyone sat down again. After taking a sip of milk tea, Wells looked at Zhao Hai and asked, “Brother Zhao Hai, how did you acquire that big-bellied pig tribe battle flag?”
Zhao Hai smiled and replied, “Recently, I helped the Goat Head Hammer Tribe of the big-bellied pig tribe with a small task, and the clan leader Spill gifted me that friendship battle flag.”
Wells had deliberately not mentioned that it was a friendship battle flag to see if Zhao Hai understood its significance. Now that Zhao Hai had explained it, Wells realized that Zhao Hai was well aware of what that flag represented.
Wells nodded and said, “It seems you helped him quite a bit; otherwise, he wouldn't have given you the friendship battle flag. Haha, Brother Zhao Hai, I see you are a merchant? Is your cart loaded with food?”
Zhao Hai nodded, “Yes, Brother Wells. I can’t really call myself a proper merchant. I have a piece of territory that produces food, and I currently have a large amount of food to sell, primarily bamboo rice.”
When Wells heard this, his eyes lit up, “My brother, what’s the price of your food?”
Zhao Hai smiled slightly, “Two thousand pounds of food for a mountain goat.”
Wells was taken aback, then his eyes sparkled as he exclaimed, “My brother, are you saying two thousand pounds of food for one mountain goat? Are you sure you didn’t misspeak?”
Zhao Hai smiled slightly and replied, “In fact, that is just the public price. If it’s for friends, the price can be reduced. Moreover, to be honest, I have an elder who is very interested in magical beasts, so for those unique magical beasts from the prairie, I can offer a high price to buy them. Of course, if you need food, I can exchange it as well, and I also have the freshest vegetables. These vegetables are as fresh as if they were just picked. Meg responded and walked out of the tent.
Wells and Yale listened in shock to Zhao Hai's words. They truly hadn't expected him to make such an offer; it was beyond their imagination.
