CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: Electricity Arrivals

Merlin and the others stared blankly at Zhao Hai, unsure of what he was gesturing about. Did he really have no way to improve the land?

Merlin felt a sudden heaviness in her heart. She had noticed Zhao Hai's significant changes lately, but they had been positive adjustments, so she hadn't thought much about it. She simply assumed that Zhao Hai had matured due to a tremendous change. But seeing his current state made her worried, fearing that he might be overwhelmed by immense pressure.

Zhao Hai also felt a bit embarrassed. He was so used to working with a computer that he couldn’t help but want to click with his fingers when he saw the current situation. Without a mouse, he could only use his hand, completely forgetting that the screen before him was not physical but merely a projection.

Scratching his head, Zhao Hai quickly shouted "yes" in his mind. Shortly after, a notification from the spatial system echoed, "Please enter the area for improvement. Your maximum improvement area is currently ten acres."

An input box appeared in front of him, with a cursor flashing continuously. Zhao Hai quickly thought of "ten acres." Instantly, the input box showed the Arabic number 10, followed by the unit "acres."

Zhao Hai thought that this would be enough to initiate the transformation, but he was surprised when the notification sounded again: "Please select the improvement method: spatial soil improvement / spatial water improvement / custom."

Zhao Hai was nearly driven crazy. He noticed that Merlin and the others were now looking at him differently, but there were still so many troubles with the spatial system. He immediately selected "custom," as he had already calculated the optimal improvement formula, so of course, he needed it to be custom.

Sure enough, after choosing "custom," another input box immediately popped up, and the spatial voice prompted, "Please enter the ratio of spatial water to spatial soil."

Zhao Hai quickly input "six" for spatial water and "four" for spatial soil. Fortunately, he could just think it, and it would input directly into the box, sparing him from having to write it down himself. Otherwise, he might really be seen as a madman.

After completing this input, the spatial system finally didn’t make any more notifications, and Zhao Hai felt relieved. Suddenly, he saw a pocket-sized opening appear beside him, and a grayish substance flew out from the opening, landing directly on the black soil in front of him.

The grayish substance was hard to distinguish whether it was spatial soil or spatial water, almost like a cloud of dust. However, as it landed on the black soil, the ground began to change at a visible rate, the color, which resembled oil, gradually lightening to a normal black soil color, contrasting sharply with the surrounding land.

Interestingly, the grayish substance landed precisely within a perfectly square area of ten acres—neither more nor less—and it was even more square than the land measured by Merlin and the others. There was a shallow ditch separating the improved ten acres from the surrounding land, making it clear at a glance.

It wasn’t until all ten acres were fully transformed that the opening beside Zhao Hai gradually disappeared. He walked to the edge of the improved land and grabbed a handful of soil, examining it closely. The soil was just as he imagined; it had transformed into fertile black soil.

Holding the handful of soil, Zhao Hai burst into laughter. He had finally succeeded! This ten acres could now be cultivated. With such capabilities, along with this vast piece of land, it would be difficult for him to face hunger in the future.

Zhao Hai's laughter startled everyone around him. When the opening had appeared beside him, they were all frozen in place, having never encountered such a phenomenon before. Everyone lost the ability to speak, standing dumbfounded as they watched the black soil change gradually.

It wasn’t until Zhao Hai laughed that they snapped out of their daze. Almost everyone subconsciously mimicked Zhao Hai's actions, whether they were slaves or Merlin and her companions; all of them stepped forward to grab a handful of soil to examine closely.
