CHAPTER 109: Sean
Zhao Hai and Meg turned to look in the direction of the voice; it was Galen. Galen was now dressed in full armor, enveloping him completely. However, the armor did not make him seem heavy or cumbersome at all; his footsteps were as light as those of an ordinary person, even more agile than many warriors.
Galen had also gained some benefits in the spatial realm; his strength had now reached the peak level of an eighth-level warrior. As long as he waited for the right opportunity, he could break through and become a ninth-level warrior, which would make him one of the most formidable experts in the world.
Every major family has an unrivaled master safeguarding it; otherwise, the family risks being devoured by others. The budah family was one such example.
Although Galen and Merlin were both eighth-level experts, they had not yet reached ninth level. This was why those major families dared to act against the budah family. While eighth-level experts were indeed powerful, they were not invincible. The reason those families eventually gave up on dealing with the budah family was due to the presence of Galen and Merlin. With one being a mage and the other a warrior, both at the eighth level, even if they were surrounded by multiple ninth-level experts, it was still possible for them to escape. Once an eighth-level expert escaped, they could unleash endless retaliation, which no major family wanted to see.
For this reason, those major families did not dare to force Galen and Merlin into a desperate fight; if they truly did go all out, it would not end well for them either.
Seeing Galen arrive, Zhao Hai hurried to greet him, “Grandpa Galen, are you here?”
They were currently waiting for the Majidel Trading Company to deliver the rabbits that Galen had purchased, which was why Zhao Hai asked.
Galen nodded and replied, “They've arrived. One hundred gold coins bought a total of three hundred Blue-eyed Rabbits. With the remaining ten gold coins, I bought five Scaly Horned Horse carts specifically for transporting goods.”
The Scaly Horned Horse was a very common magical beast on the continent, known for its great strength and moderate speed, making it best suited for hauling items.
Zhao Hai nodded; he had many needs right now. Although he could ask the Majidel Trading Company for help, it wasn't worth spending money on smaller items. Having a few Scaly Horned Horse carts was helpful.
Most importantly, with these Scaly Horned Horses, he could breed them in large quantities, making the purchase a source of income in the future.
Zhao Hai said to Galen, “Grandpa Galen, let the undead beings drive the carts into the manor. We can send the Majidel Trading Company workers away with a small tip.”
Galen nodded, “Alright, I will arrange that immediately.” He did not oppose Zhao Hai using undead beings to drive the carts. Zhao Hai was a dark mage and a renowned summoner, so it was entirely normal for him to use undead beings for tasks. If he didn't, that would be unusual, as this was a convention for dark mages.
In fact, the type of mages on the continent who never borrowed slaves were the dark mages. They could summon undead beings like skeletons to work for them, which were often more reliable than slaves.
The type of mages who never borrowed servants were also dark mages because they were so strange that everyone feared becoming a servant for them. There was always the worry that one day, they might be turned into an undead being if they displeased their dark mage master. Thus, no one wanted to serve dark mages.
The undead beings Zhao Hai kept at Green Mountain Manor were all humanoid, so sending some to help Galen drive the carts was entirely normal.
Sean was a junior manager at the Majidel Trading Company in the Versailles Principality. His main responsibility was to manage personnel and oversee some of the workers in the trading company, holding a relatively low position within the organization.
However, Sean had another identity; he was an informant for the Majidel family, responsible for gathering information. His approach to collecting information was quite unique, as he did not actively seek it out. Instead, he gathered useful intel from the goods he transported.
