CHAPTER 106: Learned Magic
Zhao Hai felt a tremendous pain in his head, a pain so intense that it surpassed even the agony of ten days of insomnia.
He experienced a peculiar sensation, as if he were dreaming, yet his soul felt detached from his body, existing in a wonderfully mystical state.
Zhao Hai's understanding of magic was still quite limited. How long has the history of written records on Earth been? Just a few thousand years. But how long has the history of written records on the Ark Continent been? Tens of thousands of years.
In those tens of thousands of years, Earth has developed mechanical civilization to unimaginable heights within a few thousand years, while on the Ark Continent, mechanical civilization had nearly stagnated. Most of that time was devoted to the development of magical civilization. Under such circumstances, how advanced could magical civilization become? Zhao Hai had never considered this before.
Zhao Hai had just received three types of magic. These three spells weren't particularly unique, but similar to the five elements on Earth, these three types of magic could also interact and evolve into countless variations. There were many mages in this world who learned two or three types of magic and ultimately created new spells, and such cases occurred frequently.
For this reason, over the years, the total number of magical systems on the Ark Continent had grown exponentially. Even now, if someone was an eighth-level grand mage of one particular system, they wouldn't dare claim to know all the spells of that system because it was simply impossible.
And from whom did Zhao Hai learn these three spells? From an eighth-level light grand mage, two seventh-level earth grand mages, and the rest were from advanced dark magic mages like Zhao Zui and others who had no idea how many lives they had lived. The number of spells Zhao Hai learned was a truly terrifying figure.
It could be said that this time, Zhao Hai absorbed the largest amount of information ever, surpassing that of previous times by a significant margin.
Because of this, Zhao Hai felt immense pain, but greater pain often brings greater benefits. This time, he gained a considerable number of spells from three systems. Now he could even impersonate a light mage or an earth mage without any issues, and pretending to be a dark mage would be even easier.
Zhao Hai had no idea how long he lay there, but honestly, the bed in the villa was much more comfortable than a straw bed, and he found it hard to get up.
After lying there for a while, Zhao Hai finally crawled out of bed, stretched, but suddenly froze. He felt no pain at all. On the contrary, he felt refreshed and his mind was clearer than ever, leaving Zhao Hai utterly astonished.
At that moment, a prompt from the space system sounded: "Due to the host's inability to absorb too much information at once, the host's brain was forcibly developed. Current brain development level is at fifteen percent."
Zhao Hai was taken aback. He truly hadn't expected such good fortune. One should know that the human brain is the most mysterious entity. According to studies, most people only manage to develop about three to four percent of their brain, and even reaching seven to eight percent is considered genius, akin to someone like Einstein. Now, the space had suddenly developed his brain to fifteen percent. Did that mean he was a genius among geniuses?
Just as Zhao Hai was feeling proud, he heard Meg's voice: "Young master, are you awake?" Zhao Hai quickly stood up and replied, "I'm awake, come in."
Meg pushed the door open and walked in. Upon seeing Zhao Hai standing there, she promptly said, "Young master, are you alright? You looked like you were in a lot of pain earlier."
Zhao Hai smiled slightly at Meg and said, "I'm fine, don't worry. I can now use magic from all three systems. Let's go see Grandpa Galen and not make him worry." To be honest, Zhao Hai's impression of Meg had improved more and more. She was like his shadow, always standing by his side, efficiently handling everything he entrusted to her, while also taking care of his daily needs. A woman like that was truly worthy of Zhao Hai's affection.
