"Distribute woolen fabrics in Dilz? As a new product for the granado trading company?"
The one who asked in that suspicious tone was none other than the prince with shining silver hair, His Highness Ruifeng Sandalqia Dirts.
After thinking for a moment with a slightly bitter expression, he gave a small shrug.
"That's unreasonable. Wool is material for blankets, cloaks, and cold-weather clothing. You shear it in spring, and what are you supposed to sell in summer?"
"Summers in Dilz are cool. Besides, depending on the weave, it's apparently even cooler than linen clothes."
"No matter how comfortable it is, I still wouldn't wear it. It's ugly."
Behind him stood sheep with plenty of fluffy wool. The sheep seemed interested in Lord Ruifeng's fluttering cape, and kept gathering around him.
Lord Ruifeng is the Third Prince of the Dirts Kingdom, and the husband of my elder sister Anastasia. In the middle of the pasture, he lifted his snow-white arm and snorted with contempt, his silver hair and ice-blue eyes shining beautifully enough to justify his nickname, "the most beautiful prince in the world."
"Sheep farming is unproductive. They can't pull loads like horses or donkeys. The meat tastes good, but from here in Chadelan, four days away from the royal capital, that won't work. I don't want to eat rotten meatβ"
"Oh, Lord Ruifeng, they're biting your cape."
"Whaaa?!"
Lord Ruifeng frantically tugged at his cape.
But the sheep that had it in its mouth was just as desperate not to lose its hard-earned snack. Still clinging to Lord Ruifeng's white cape, it bleated in protest.
Ahaha. Sorry, but this is really funny.
Watching it, Anastasia laughed brightly.
"Come to think of it, sheep's voices are pretty different from goats, aren't they? Goats go meh-heh-heh, while sheep sound more like mbeeeh."
"Wow, Anastasia, your impressions are so good."
At that, my younger brother Cedric, who was standing beside her, clapped his hands.
Pleased at the praise, Anastasia shrugged and looked down at him.
"Until now I thought they were basically the same animal except for the fluffy part. What's actually different about them?"
"Goats have beards, and sheep have big tails. Also, goats can climb rocky mountains, but sheep don't do well on slopes. When goats get angry, they kick you, but sheep headbutt you."
"So both are just equally vicious, then."
"But sheep hurt less."
"Siblings, could you not have such leisurely conversations and help me for a second?!"
Lord Ruifeng shouted, but the siblings only shrugged.
I wasn't going to help rescue him either, but I did at least call out to him.
"Um, Lord Ruifeng. It'd be better not to pull so hard. The biting force is surprisingly strong, so your cape might tear. And if the sheep panics, that could be dangerous too."
"Then what am I supposed to do?!"
"I think it would be best to give up and let it have its way..."
"I'm stuck here more than I care about the cape!"
"Don't make a fuss, Ruifeng. It'll get bored and let go eventually."
Lord Cyrus said coldly.
But that was actually true. Sheep are curious animals, and often use their mouths to investigate, as if to say, "What is this?" Even so, that interest doesn't last very long, so in the end, the quickest solution is usually to just leave them alone until they get bored.
Long term, it's not good to let them develop a bad habit of biting things, but there aren't any residents of Chadelan who would come into a pasture wearing a fluttering cape. From now on, Lord Ruifeng would probably remain the only victim.
"It's your own fault for coming dressed like that. I told you I was coming to look at sheep in Chadelan Territory."
"I didn't hear anything about going inside the fence!"
"I never said you couldn't go in either. Or rather, what do you mean by bringing your wife with you in the first place?"
Just then, the sheep seemed to lose interest in the cape. Lord Ruifeng used his excellent reflexes to recover it at once, and he let out a sigh.
"I happened to be with Anastasia when Cedric came to visit."
"I was the one who asked him to bring me here," Anastasia said lightly.
