Chapter 551: Letters and Stories 📜✨

Beside me, as I was exchanging words with Hilsure, Foster Father opened the magic tool with a wry smile. The next moment, Hilsure lunged forward and pulled out some documents. Then, he happily began leafing through the materials.

“What kind of research materials are these?”

“These are research materials for the library’s magic tools. It seems that by dividing magic tools according to their purpose—such as for organizing materials or for searching—the difficulty of creation can be reduced. Still, it’s quite difficult and requires high-quality materials...”

...Magic tools for organizing and searching the library’s materials!? That means I could essentially have simplified versions of Schwarz and Weiss in my own library!?

Although Schwarz and Weiss seem to also have the duty to guide the royal family to Gultrishite, such functions aren’t necessary for use in my library.

“Professor Hilsure, since these are library magic tools, please show them to me as well! You don’t organize the materials yourself, so you probably don’t need them, right?”

I jumped to look at Ferdinand’s documents, but Hilsure raised his hand high and refused to show them to me.

“I go first, Lady Rosemine. These magic tools are more necessary for someone like me, who leaves materials scattered in the lab, than for you, who can organize materials yourself.”

...Haah, that’s true.

Recalling the state of Hilsure’s laboratory, I withdrew my hand. If these magic tools could help keep his lab neatly organized, then I think they’d be very meaningful.

“By the time the noble academy starts, I’ll probably have finished the necessary research parts. If you’re that interested, you could come to my laboratory.”

“Do I have to wait until winter...? I want to read them sooner.”

“You’re supposed to be at Ehrenfest, Lady Rosemine, and not here. Please wait until you come here properly.”

Right now, the lords’ council is in session, so it’s not the right time for me to wander around the noble academy. I’m staying here to assist the royal family, so I mustn’t enter the civil officials’ building or stay in Hilsure’s lab for my own amusement.

...Ugh, library magic tools.

For me, who wished to have Schwarz and the others in my library, these magic tools are irresistibly desirable. As I was pondering whether I could catch even a glimpse of how to make them, Hilsure looked down at me and smiled faintly.

“I’ll write down the materials needed for creation and have them delivered to this dormitory by the end of the lords’ council. It would be good to prepare so you can stay in the lab and create them during winter, wouldn’t it?”

“Yes!”

Feeling determined, I clenched my fist, but Foster Father lightly tapped my head with a letter. Apparently, the envelope contained letters addressed both to him and to me.

“Rosemine, this one is for you.”

Foster Father handed me part of the letter delivered from Ferdinand. Just as I reached out to take it, I hesitated for a moment. I wondered if it might be written with glowing ink. But since nothing changed when I was tapped on the head, it must not be glowing ink.

...It’s okay, right? Surely Lord Ferdinand wouldn’t be careless enough to put a letter written in glowing ink in the same envelope?

Nervously, I extended my hand again. Foster Father eyed me suspiciously but handed it over.

“What’s wrong, Rosemine?”

“Um, Foster Father, may I write a reply? I thought I shouldn’t worry Lord Ferdinand or write him letters.”

After confirming the letter didn’t glow, I asked. Foster Father looked a little troubled.

“...It’s fine to reply. The discussion with you will be postponed until tomorrow. You should read Ferdinand’s letter first. I have things to think about after reading this, too.”

Foster Father handed the letter to the civil official, then invited Hilsure to dinner.

“Hilsure, thank you for your hard work. I’ll have dinner prepared for you, so stay and eat.”

However, Hilsure looked dissatisfied, clutching the documents.
