"The afternoon lecture has started. Shall we depart soon? Remember to move quietly so we don’t cause any trouble."
"I understand."
This afternoon, we were to change clothes in the library. We planned to move only after the afternoon lecture had begun and the place had become less crowded, to avoid drawing attention. The girls accompanying me all looked happy as they carried boxes filled with costumes and accessories and began to move.
The only males accompanying us were Hartmut, directly assigned by the high priest to report, and Brother Cornelius, my Guard Knight. Charlotte had chosen only girls as companions.
"I'll allow only Schwarz and Weiss to be touched inside the room, so please help them change."
At my words, the girls smiled happily. Although they tried not to show it on their faces, it seemed that Liselotte, who occasionally tightened her smile, looked the happiest.
"Liselotte really loves Shumil, doesn’t she?" Judith teased Liselotte. Liselotte, who usually kept her personal feelings separate from work, seemed to feel as if her inexperienced side had been pointed out. She glanced at me briefly, then muttered softly, "Isn’t it adorable?" before blushing shyly and looking down.
"If Liselotte hadn’t loved Shumil, this outfit wouldn’t have been completed, so I’m grateful," I said.
"Lady Rosemine."
Walking gracefully like a noble lady, we arrived at the library. Schwarz and Weiss peeked their heads out from the reading room door.
"Princess is here."
"Today is for changing clothes."
Following Schwarz and Weiss, who were walking with slight head shakes, Solange strolled over leisurely. Seeing not only my close aides but also Charlotte and her aides, she chuckled softly.
"Wow, you have quite an entourage today. Well then, let me take you to the place for changing."
Solange led the way into the back of the office. There was a reception area where students could come in and out for registration or tea parties. Beyond that was Solange’s office desk and a locked bookshelf, with a door connecting to the reading room. Further inside was a folding screen, behind which she guided us today.
… I thought it would be a private space with a bed or something, but it seems not.
The layout was almost identical to my room. When I first came here, I had seen Schwarz and Weiss sitting side by side on a bench, so I assumed it was a private space with beds. But it wasn’t — just a small resting area with a bench, not Solange’s personal living space.
"Please let Schwarz and Weiss change here. The registration work was already done during lunch break."
"Understood."
Brother Cornelius and Leonore, both knight apprentices, stood in front of the folding screen, while the bodyguards of Judith and Charlotte watched inside the changing area.
Liselotte gave instructions and lined up the boxes we brought. Brynhildr and the others opened their boxes one by one, checking for any forgotten items. Charlotte and I, both lord candidates, couldn’t work together, so we just watched as preparations were made.
"By the way, where does Solange-sensei live? Dorm supervisors have rooms in their dormitories, and teachers have rooms in their specialized buildings, right?"
I knew that Hirschur lived in the civil service specialized building and didn’t return home, so it was common for teachers to have rooms only in their specialized buildings, not dorm supervisors.
"My private room, or rather, the librarian's room, is behind that door," Solange pointed to a door completely hidden behind the folding screen.
"It’s like a dormitory. The first floor has a dining hall, the second floor is for men’s rooms, and the third floor is for women."
The librarian’s living space was inside the library. I envied Solange so much for having a room here. I wanted a private room in the library too.
"I’ll return to the reading room. Lady Rosemine, please take care of helping Schwarz and Weiss change."
Seeing the preparations complete, Solange turned on her heel. I watched her leave, then looked around at the girls ready to help, before focusing on Schwarz and Weiss.
