“Princess, everyone has gladly agreed to the matter of your attendants. They've already begun moving to their new rooms. Your attendants will come to greet you shortly. Since gentlemen are not allowed on the third floor, the introductions will take place after dinner.”

Richarda returned after conveying the news about the attendants’ appointments and the announcement scheduled after dinner.

It seemed that those chosen as attendants had to move into rooms designated for them. There was a flurry of activity just beyond the door—most likely, the attendants’ moving process had begun in earnest.

“Lady Rosemine, may I bring in your attendants?”

“Yes, please let them in.”

Angelica, who was standing by the door, asked me for permission to open it. As the door opened, the girls who had become my attendants entered the room one after another. While their attendants and helpers prepared their rooms, we would hold greetings and discuss the division of duties here.

Brynhildr was the first to enter and knelt before me.

“Lady Rosemine, I am truly honored to be at your service. Please entrust me with matters concerning trends and fashion.”

“I intend to assign Brynhildr to handle social affairs. As you know, I have been asleep for two years and am not very familiar with the intricate domestic situation, factions, or the connections between territories. I expect you to assist me in social settings and gather various information.”

“You can count on me.”

After Brynhildr’s greeting, Liselotte quietly knelt before me.

“My entire family—and indeed, our whole clan—are grateful to Lady Rosemine for saving my older sister, who was even at risk of not advancing in the noble academy. I wish to serve you wholeheartedly, so that you may live comfortably.”

“I heard from Angelica that Liselotte waited through her training year to serve me after I awoke. I appreciate that feeling. I look forward to working with you.”

“Yes.”

Unlike civil official apprentices who can start work by helping to prepare reference books and assisting with tasks as long as they can write, attendants must undergo a year of training to avoid displeasing their master before they can serve someone exclusively.

Liselotte had been a first-year student at the noble academy during my baptism ceremony. She was about to serve me after completing her year of training when I was attacked and fell asleep. She was shocked by this stroke of bad luck, but seeing Angelica steadily becoming stronger during my sleep seems to have motivated her.

“Princess, I will personally teach the two attendant apprentices about their duties in this room.”

Richarda would be assisting Brynhildr and Liselotte with their instructions, so there would be no problem. When I nodded, Richarda began explaining the room and the daily schedule.

I turned my gaze to the knight apprentices lined up. Judit, who knelt down, looked up at me with an excited expression.

“I am so happy to serve Lady Rosemine. I want to become as strong as possible and be of help.”

“I look forward to your efforts, Judit.”

Next to her knelt Leonore, a calm girl with grape-colored hair and intelligent indigo eyes. Perhaps because of her composed demeanor or her good physical development, she looked very mature.

If I hadn’t been told she was a knight apprentice, I might have thought she was a civil official apprentice.

“Lady Rosemine, thank you for appointing me as a Guard Knight.”

“Leonore, I realize I’m asking a lot of you. If any problems arise, I will cooperate. Please consult with Cornelius and assist and guide Angelica and Judit.”

Leonore glanced at Angelica and Judit, then tightened her expression and nodded slowly.

“…I will do my utmost sincerely.”

I breathed a sigh of relief that she did not refuse, and called out to Angelica, who was also smiling with narrowed eyes, apparently happy that someone was willing to think for them.

“Angelica, please explain the duties and divisions of labor in this room to the two.”
