Several days had passed since the Preaching Sword, created to impart knowledge to Angelica, was completed, and it turned out to be quite an interesting thing.
Though it was a demonic sword that had gained its personality and tone from the high priest's mana, it apparently still had no knowledge at all about anything. From now on, its owner Angelica would teach it, and it would learn by listening to the conversations around it.
In other words, at present, Angelica was being lectured by someone who actually knew nothing.
“Is it just preachy talk then?”
I muttered silently that it was pretty annoying. The demonic sword gleamed and solemnly said in the high priest's tone, “First, it is important that my master acquires knowledge.” Its manner of speaking was completely like the high priest.
“For the demonic sword to acquire knowledge, Angelica must study, right?”
“Unlike me, Steinluk doesn’t forget, so it’s rewarding to teach it.”
“Steinluk?”
“That is the name of this demonic sword.”
Angelica smiled gently and slowly stroked the sword.
Darmel, who was looking down at the demonic sword speaking in the high priest's tone with an indescribable expression, slowly sighed.
“Then, to build up Steinluk’s knowledge, how about starting to study the fourth-year material?”
“Indeed. Among the materials Brother gave me, there are also documents for the fourth year.”
Darmel whispered that since she no longer had to explain things repeatedly until Angelica understood, the burden would be much lighter.
“That’s right. Also, it’s better to prepare in advance so you won’t be hit by a storm of remedial lessons.”
Angelica nodded solemnly with a serious expression, then her blue eyes sparkled. She softly handed the demonic sword to Darmel.
“Steinluk, do your best.”
“My master! How can you not study first!? If mana is not flowing, I cannot pick up voices around me. You must study and summarize what you’ve learned to teach me, or your mana won’t hold out.”
Apparently, she couldn’t keep channeling mana all day. Angelica held the demonic sword tightly, her eyes wide open in shock.
“So, I can’t escape from studying?”
“Of course not, you fool!”
…As expected, a fake high priest.
I hope she keeps making Angelica study like that.
“I’ll try to organize the content as much as possible so Angelica can study with Steinluk.”
“Darmel, thank you.”
Watching Darmel and Brother Cornelius begin to plan Angelica’s education from the side, I picked up the piled-up materials.
Anything I hadn’t read before, whether reference books or documents, I read first. That was my way of life.
Remembering the happiness of getting new textbooks at the start of a new school year, I began reading the materials Brother Eckhardt provided.
Apparently, he had asked the high priest for guidance. Looking over the documents annotated by the high priest here and there, I frowned.
“Hey, Brigitte.”
“Yes, Lady Rosemine?”
“Do you think we could make a reference book from the noble academy materials Brother Eckhardt and Ferdinand have? Would it sell?”
High scorers’ notes were worth seeing even back in Reno’s time. Since there were no textbooks here and lessons were taken in the form of personal summaries of lectures, such a reference book would be very valuable.
“I do think it would sell. But…”
Brigitte said this, glancing with a faint smile from her amethyst eyes at Darmel. Following Brigitte’s gaze, I saw Darmel looking troubled.
“Darmel, is there some problem?”
“In the past, selling wooden tags that summarized lecture content or taking notes in place of others was a good way for lower-ranking nobles with little pocket money to earn some income. If Lady Rosemine compiles a reference book based on Ferdinand’s and Eckhardt’s materials and sells it, some students might financially suffer.”
“I see…”
We can’t crush the precious income source of poor students. If we sell reference books, we’d have to find another way for students to earn money.
