“Leave the tickets to me.”
Since Mother was incredibly enthusiastic, I decided to entrust Mother and Foster Mother with the full responsibility of setting up the venue, attending to the guests, and preparing tea and sweets.
“Elvira, please calm down. If the date isn’t set, you can’t even make the tickets, right?”
“Hey, Lady Florentia, don’t you want to hold the concert as soon as possible?”
While Mother clenched her fingers, eager to hold the concert as soon as possible, Foster Mother frowned in worry.
“I want to allow as much preparation time as possible. We can’t afford to make mistakes, can we?”
Because this is the first time hosting a concert where tickets are sold and items are sold on-site, Foster Mother seemed to want more time to prepare.
I agreed with Foster Mother. I want to buy as much time as possible.
The reason is that besides creating the program, I have the extremely demanding task of providing new songs and recipes to the high priest.
While I’m safe at the castle, I feel like the moment I return to the temple, I’ll be the target of the high priest’s pent-up anger, vented because of Richarda’s bullying. I want to buy time and wait for his anger to subside.
No, wait. Since the high priest has a good memory and tends to hold grudges for a long time, maybe giving it more time will only amplify his anger.
“Ordnance.”
Before I knew it, Foster Mother was holding the Glowing Baton. She transformed the mana stone on her bracelet and prepared a messenger bird.
“The concert will be held in one month. If inconvenient, please specify an alternative date.”
After saying this, she waved the baton and sent the bird flying. As I had seen many times before, the bird flew through the wall.
After a while, the bird returned, flapping its wings as it landed on the table and delivered a message from the high priest.
“One month later is fine. Sorry, but please tell Rosemine to start magic training from tomorrow. Taking the medicine should keep her health fine.”
The same content was repeated three times in a cold voice before the bird returned to the mana stone. Even though it was only a voice, my spine straightened, and cold sweat broke out—am I the only one feeling this way?
“…Young Master Ferdinand, isn’t he incredibly angry?”
“He doesn’t sound like he’s in a good mood.”
“Y-yes, his voice is very chilly.”
Though it’s kind of a compliment, Mother’s smile was somewhat strained.
“In this case, Mother, please say it’s not a chilly voice but a voice that freezes your spine.”
Since I obediently took the medicine as the bird’s message instructed, my condition was fully recovered the next day.
I was worried about the high priest’s anger, but the sound of magic training was good. I wonder what he will teach me. Will he let me read magic-related books that I wasn’t allowed to before?
…There must be many books I’m reading for the first time. Maybe there’s a “basic magic” textbook or something? …Ah! Maybe this is how the Myne Decimal Classification system will be completed!?
Remembering my troubles classifying magic-related books, I eagerly awaited the high priest’s arrival.
“Princess, Norbert sent a message. Young Master Ferdinand has arrived.”
“Let’s go immediately.”
Led by Richarda, I headed to the main building’s waiting room with the Guard Knights. Today, all four of them were gathered, and surrounded by guards, I was completely hidden.
“Good morning, Rosemine.”
In the waiting room sat the high priest, expressionless and emotionless. It was hard to tell if he was angry or not, but seeing the books piled in front of him made me forget such concerns.
“Good morning, Young Master Ferdinand. Are those books for me?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Here it comes! New books! Yay!
Inside, I was dancing the samba with maracas in my heart, but in reality, I only smiled gently while looking at the books. I think the education for young ladies is impressive since I can control myself from diving into the books.
