Tan Yun stood before the blue dragon and asked in a low voice, “Did you hatch from a dragon egg?”
“How did you know?” The blue dragon's blood-stained eyes revealed a look of surprise.
Tan Yun took a deep breath, trying to steady his emotions. He never expected to encounter another dragon in this Coliseum of Combat.
“Your aura... it feels familiar,” he continued, “like something I once sensed from a dragon egg I found.”
The blue dragon's expression shifted, a mixture of hope and skepticism. “You found a dragon egg?”
Tan Yun nodded, recalling the moment he discovered the egg hidden deep within the Fallen God Canyon. “Yes, but it was taken from me before I could hatch it.”
The blue dragon's eyes softened slightly, as if it could understand the pain of loss. “I... I thought I was the only one left.”
Their conversation was interrupted by the sudden roar of the crowd outside the soundproof barrier. The anticipation for the next battle was palpable, but both dragons seemed lost in their own thoughts.
“Do you think there are more of us out there?” Tan Yun asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
The blue dragon hesitated before replying, “I hope so. We can’t be the last of our kind.”
The weight of their predicament hung heavy in the air, and for a moment, they found solace in each other's presence, both longing for a connection that had been severed long ago.
As the announcer's voice boomed through the arena, signaling the start of the next match, Tan Yun's heart sank. He was torn between the urge to fight for survival and the desire to uncover more about the dragon lineage he had lost.
“Stay strong,” the blue dragon said, its voice steadying. “We will find a way out of this.”
With a determined nod, Tan Yun prepared himself for the upcoming battle, knowing that their fates were intertwined in ways he could not yet comprehend.
“Correct.” The blue dragon emitted a weak female voice.
Tan Yun sighed heavily, tears glistening in his giant pupils. “Remember, in the vast universe, among countless realms, there are hundreds of types of Dragon Clan.”
“Among them, two of the most powerful dragon lineages are the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon and the Nine-Clawed Demonic Dragon.”
“And you are neither a blue dragon nor any other dragon lineage; you are a member of the Nine-Clawed Demonic Dragon!”
Upon hearing this, the blue dragon's blood-filled eyes showed a hint of confusion. “If you say I am a member of the Nine-Clawed Demonic Dragon lineage, then why do I only have four claws?”
“Listen to me carefully,” Tan Yun explained honestly, “The Nine-Clawed Demonic Dragon lineage is pure and powerful, which also leads to their dragon eggs taking the longest to hatch among hundreds of dragon types.”
“If a dragon egg hatches under the mother dragon, it may take as fast as a million years, and if it hatches on its own, it takes at least ten million years.”
“The Nine-Clawed Demonic Dragon lineage is a true divine lineage; newborn dragons are at the seventh level initial stage, and before reaching the tenth level tribulation stage, they are covered in blue dragon scales.”
“When they successfully undergo tribulation, they will change from four claws to six claws, and their scales will turn black. At that point, the magic power within them will become even more powerful.”
Upon hearing this, tears suddenly filled the blue dragon's eyes, and she looked at Tan Yun with a tearful gaze. “If what you say is true, then when I hatched, I didn’t find my parents. Does that mean I spent over ten million years alone in the egg?”
“Correct.” Tan Yun sighed heavily, his heart aching at the thought of the demonic dragons that had died in the Fallen God Canyon.
“Then who are my parents? Where are they…” The blue dragon's tears mixed with blood as they fell to the ground, choking on her words, “Please tell me! I want to know my parents; why aren’t they by my side?”
Tan Yun closed his eyes, and in the moonlight, two streams of tears could be faintly seen flowing down his face. “Although what I am about to say is very cruel for you, I still need to let you know the whole process.”
