Chapter 75: Doomed God’s Tomb
Tan Yun smiled faintly after putting away the Qiankun Rings from the five corpses. "Wang Futong, your death awaits you in the Doomed God’s Tomb!"
Tan Yun headed towards the Setting Sun Forest to meet Mu Mengyi and Xue Ziyan. He had to pass through the Doomed God’s Tomb, which spanned over 150,000 miles, and the Lake of Forgetfulness Palace, which covered 100,000 miles. At this moment, his enemies were within the tomb, and Tan Yun could not let them go.
Riding the bloodwing spirit lion, Tan Yun soared into the sky. After three days of flying 45,000 miles, he overlooked a vast and desolate plain, realizing he had arrived above the Doomed God’s Tomb.
From his vantage point, Tan Yun could see countless chaotic giant pits scattered across the expansive and lifeless plain.
"Mm?" Tan Yun furrowed his brow, gazing intently at the giant pits. His pupils suddenly contracted as he observed that these pits, approximately 40 yards wide and over 100 yards long, were not ordinary ground collapses but rather enormous footprints!
Indeed, they were footprints!
"The Doomed God’s Tomb was named by our sect’s ancestor master. It seems that beneath this plain, the tomb, which spans 150,000 miles, was once a resting place for the ancient gods who sought to destroy the Heavenly Punishment Continent!"
Tan Yun mused quietly, guiding the bloodwing spirit lion as he soared above the desolate plain in search of the tomb's entrance.
An hour later, a towering stone tablet, as high as 1,000 feet and resembling a mountain, appeared in Tan Yun’s line of sight.
Carved in an ornate script on the stone tablet were two lines of giant characters:
"Doomed God’s Tomb."
"Huangfu Sacred Sect—Named by Huangfu Lingxiao!"
Huangfu Lingxiao was indeed the ancestor master of the Huangfu Sacred Sect!
With a gust of wind, the bloodwing spirit lion landed gracefully in front of the stone tablet, briefly pausing before gliding towards a massive, abyss-like black entrance below the tablet.
Tan Yun estimated that even a colossal creature standing 1,000 feet tall could easily enter through the entrance!
"Big guy, once we go in, try not to make too much noise to avoid alerting my enemies," Tan Yun instructed, standing on the lion's back.
The bloodwing spirit lion nodded its massive head and continued flying…
"What a deep tomb!" A hint of shock crossed Tan Yun's eyes. The bloodwing spirit lion descended for a thousand miles before finally reaching the interior of the tomb.
What came into view was a vast and spectacular scene of destruction!
Palaces made of massive stones, towering tens of thousands of feet high, were densely packed throughout the tomb.
These endless palaces appeared to have suffered tremendous external impacts; some had collapsed into ruins, while others were broken in the middle.
On the exterior of the palaces, the dark brown blood that had dried with the passage of time left a chilling sight on the azure stone walls, as if the Doomed God’s Tomb had been subjected to a bloodbath by some powerful existence.
"Awwo…" The bloodwing spirit lion suddenly trembled, its giant body quaking as panic flickered in its eyes.
Tan Yun followed its gaze and looked out, only to see a gigantic claw print on the vast blue stone floor of the tomb, occupying an area of a thousand yards!
Dragon's trace!
Footprints of a dragon!
Tan Yun shuddered, stroking the bloodwing spirit lion, and soothingly said, "Don't be afraid, big guy. They, like you, call me master. They've been dead for millions of years, and these footprints should only be remnants from when they attacked the gods."
The bloodwing spirit lion turned its head, looking confusedly at Tan Yun, as if asking why the divine dragon also acknowledged him as master.
"This is a long story. I’ll tell you later," Tan Yun said sadly. "Alright, don’t be afraid, continue flying deeper."
"Roar!" The bloodwing spirit lion flapped its wings and slowed down as they navigated through the vast tomb.
As they ventured deeper, Tan Yun became increasingly sure that during ancient times, the divine dragon and the demonic dragon had attacked the gods' resting place.
