Tang Xinying lightly parted her cherry lips, her melodious voice ringing out, “Tan Yun, there’s one part of the sixteen series of alchemical arts you taught me that I just can’t comprehend.”
“I’ve tried many times, but I still can’t grasp the essence of it. Could you please explain it to me again?”
Tan Yun smiled gently, “Of course, Xinying. Which part are you struggling with?”
Xinying’s eyes sparkled with determination as she replied, “The part regarding the fusion of different essence fluids. I understand the theory, but I can’t seem to apply it in practice.”
Tan Yun nodded thoughtfully, “The key lies in feeling the balance of the essences. You have to let your spiritual sense guide you, rather than relying solely on textbook knowledge.”
Xinying furrowed her brow, “But how exactly do I let my spiritual sense guide me?”
Tan Yun took a moment to gather his thoughts before explaining, “You need to calm your mind and focus on the essence fluids. Close your eyes and visualize their properties. Once you can feel them, the fusion process will become intuitive.”
Xinying listened intently, her expression shifting from confusion to enlightenment as she absorbed Tan Yun’s words.
“Thank you, Tan Yun! I’ll practice it right away. I’m sure I’ll get it this time!” she exclaimed, her confidence reignited.
With a nod, Tan Yun encouraged her, “Just remember to be patient with yourself. Mastery takes time.”
As Xinying prepared to leave, a moment of hesitation crossed her face. “Tan Yun, if it’s not too much trouble, could you be my master in the alchemical arts?”
Tan Yun was taken aback by the request. “Are you sure about that? I’m still on my own path of cultivation.”
Xinying’s eyes sparkled with sincerity, “I believe you have the knowledge and skills to guide me. Plus, I respect you deeply.”
Tan Yun felt a warmth in his heart. He understood the responsibility that came with being a master, but he also recognized the potential in Xinying.
“Very well,” he finally said with a smile. “I will take you as my disciple in the alchemical arts. Together, we will explore the depths of this craft.”
Xinying beamed with joy, “Thank you, Master! I won’t let you down!”
As they parted ways, Tan Yun couldn’t help but feel a sense of fulfillment. Guiding Xinying would not only aid her growth but also deepen his understanding of the alchemical arts.
In that moment, he realized that the journey ahead would be filled with challenges and discoveries, and he was ready to embrace it all.
Then, Tang Xinying teased with a smile, “You said that if I didn’t understand anything, I could ask you anytime. You wouldn’t go back on your word, would you?”
Tan Yun bowed slightly, “What the junior has said naturally counts.”
“Then for these three days before my seclusion, could you please teach me?” Tang Xinying smiled softly, “Also, we agreed before that you shouldn’t call me senior; just call me Xinying. How could you forget?”
Tan Yun frowned slightly and said, “Xinying, it’s getting late, and I have something important to attend to tonight. Let’s do this tomorrow instead.”
Shen Subing could naturally guess that when Tan Yun said he had matters to attend to tonight, it definitely meant he was coming to find her. So, she stood up and pulled Tang Xinying’s hand, saying, “Sister Tang, this matter isn’t urgent. Let’s allow Tan Yun to teach you tomorrow instead.”
Tang Xinying wanted to say something, but Shen Subing glanced at Tan Yun, “If you have something to do tonight, why are you still standing there? Go!”
“Oh!” Tan Yun responded and stepped out of the Meritorious Sacred Hall, soaring into the sky towards the First Immortal Valley thirty thousand miles away…
In the Meritorious Sacred Hall.
“Shen Meimei, you’re really something,” Tang Xinying shot an aggrieved look at Shen Subing, “With the sixteen series of alchemical arts, I’m just one step away from understanding it all. I’ve waited over seven years for Tan Yun to teach me, and you won’t even help me speak up, but instead side with him.”
