Nangong Yuqin's body trembled as she looked at Tan Yun with tears in her eyes.
"What do you mean?"
Tan Yun seemed to have grasped something, a cold glint flashing in his starry eyes.
"Yuqin, there are traces in your soul of memories being erased. If I am not mistaken, the memories that were erased must be related to me!"
Upon hearing this, Tan Yun stood there in a daze. "Yeah! Why can't I remember you?"
"Yuqin, wait a moment. I need to take a good look at my soul," Tan Yun instructed before sitting cross-legged and entering meditation, diving deep into the vastness of his mind.
He then began to inspect his three souls and seven spirits...
A moment later, Tan Yun opened his eyes, his brows tightly furrowed, a look of confusion on his face.
"Tan Yun, how is it?" Nangong Yuqin asked anxiously.
Tan Yun shook his head, saying, "There are no traces of erased memories in my soul."
"No?" Nangong Yuqin was puzzled. "If that's the case, could it be that the memories I lost are unrelated to you? If they are related, shouldn't we have memories of each other?"
"Not necessarily," Tan Yun pondered. "Yuqin, there is a situation where my memory could be erased without leaving any traces."
"What kind?" Nangong Yuqin pressed.
Tan Yun's tone was firm. "If I consumed a certain elixir that obliterates memories, I would be unable to find any traces of the erased memories."
"From your soul's perspective, you had your memories forcibly erased, which is why traces remain in your soul."
Nangong Yuqin asked in confusion, "What is the difference between the two?"
"There is a difference," Tan Yun revealed a deep sadness in his starry eyes. "If I was indeed forced to consume an elixir that obliterates memories, as long as I can find out which elixir I took, I could refine an antidote to restore my memories."
"But you... will never be able to recover your lost memories."
Upon hearing this, Nangong Yuqin's shoulders trembled as she suddenly burst into tears. "Wuwu... What should I do? If the memories I lost are truly yours... then I will never be able to remember them!"
"Who did this? Who is so cruel to me..."
Nangong Yuqin's heart twisted in pain, tears flowing like a stream.
Tan Yun tightly embraced her, comforting her, "Don't cry, let me think of a way. If I can restore my memories, and if those memories are about you, then I will condense the memories of what we once experienced into an image for you to remember, okay?"
"Okay..." Nangong Yuqin's tears soaked Tan Yun's chest as she sobbed, "Then how do you plan to verify whether you have lost your memories?"
Tan Yun thought for a moment and said, "We will verify it from the very beginning. After the trials at the Battlefield of the Gods, I will return to my hometown and ask my family."
As he spoke, Tan Yun suddenly thought of something. He immediately controlled his spiritual sense and entered the Spirit Beast Bag. He wanted to ask the golden dragon spirit lion, but he found that the golden dragon spirit lion was currently bursting with golden demonic power, evidently in the midst of a long sprint towards the early fourth stage!
"The big guy is in seclusion and can't be disturbed. It will at least take three more years to break through from the third stage tribulation period to the early fourth stage. I can't wait that long; I will have to personally return home after the trials at the Battlefield of the Gods are over."
As Tan Yun was lost in thought, a hint of shyness flashed in Nangong Yuqin's beautiful eyes. "Then after the trials are over, if you are willing, I would like to accompany you to your hometown, is that okay?"
"Of course! Absolutely!" Tan Yun replied immediately.
"Mm." Nangong Yuqin bit her lip and said, "We can decide on the specific time when we partake in the trials."
"Alright." After Tan Yun responded, he trembled slightly as he held Nangong Yuqin's white hair. "I'm sorry, it's my fault that you lost your black hair. But don't worry, once I treat your heart's ailment, I will help you restore your black hair."
"Mm." Nangong Yuqin nestled in Tan Yun's embrace, worriedly saying, "Tan Yun, my heart's ailment has been examined by my father emperor and many powerful experts. They have all been unable to help; can you really cure it?"
