CHAPTER 57: Deepening Emotions
“Hehe, get up quickly.”
Qiu Yongcong smiled as he helped Liu Rulong to his feet, but then his brows furrowed as he glanced sideways at the tightly shut palace doors and said coldly, “Who is outside?”
“Replying to Elder Law Enforcement, the disciple guarding the Hall of Time and Space is Liu Chong. I have matters to discuss with Senior Brother.” A respectful voice came from outside the hall.
“Come in and speak.” Qiu Yongcong ordered.
“Yes, disciple obeys.” After the law enforcement disciple entered the hall, he hesitated, looking at Liu Rulong.
Qiu Yongcong’s expression was stern as he said, “Speak, what is it?”
“Replying to Elder Law Enforcement, I came to inform Senior Brother that Tan Yun has returned from the Snowy Domain Fierce Valley.” Liu Chong stated truthfully.
“Hmph, it seems that 173 law enforcement disciples died in the Snowy Domain Fierce Valley.” Qiu Yongcong snorted coldly and commanded, “Liu Chong, take some men and bring Tan Yun to this Elder Law Enforcement.”
“Disciple obeys.” Liu Chong acknowledged the order and left.

Tan Yun was at the Mu Mengyi Pavilion. After failing to find Mu Mengyi, he headed to Xue Ziyan's residence. As soon as he stepped into the first-floor hall, he heard Xue Ziyan’s cries: “Senior Sister Mu, please don’t scare Ziyan, what’s wrong with you… wuwu…”
“Dreamtalk!” Tan Yun's expression changed, and he anxiously rushed upstairs. With a loud “bang,” he pushed the door open, only to see Xue Ziyan weeping by the bed.
“Who…” Xue Ziyan turned abruptly, and upon seeing Tan Yun, her tear-filled eyes revealed deep resentment. “You brat, since you’re not dead, why didn’t you come back sooner! Look at what you’ve done to Senior Sister Mu!”
Tan Yun's heart tightened; he couldn't afford to say anything as he quickly approached the bed. Upon seeing Mu Mengyi’s current state, his body froze, and his heart ached.
Mu Mengyi looked extremely haggard; she had lost a lot of weight. She lay quietly on the bed, tears rolling down from her red, beautiful eyes. Like a living dead person, her gaze was vacant and lifeless.
“Senior Sister Xue, what happened?” Tan Yun anxiously looked at the crying Xue Ziyan.
“What happened? What do you think happened?” Xue Ziyan got up and pounded her small fists against Tan Yun’s chest, choking on her sobs. “What do you think happened… what do you say!”
“Stop!” Tan Yun reached out and grabbed Xue Ziyan’s wrist, his features contorted as he growled lowly, “Tell me, what exactly happened to her!”
Taken aback by Tan Yun’s appearance, Xue Ziyan paused for a moment, and then, while crying, she said, “On the night of the 29th, someone told Senior Sister Mu that I was dying, and then Senior Sister Mu went to find me, leaving you in the pavilion.”
“When Senior Sister Mu found me, I had already fallen asleep; she realized she had fallen into a trap.”
“Later, Senior Sister Mu madly returned to find you and ran into Liu Rulong in the training room.”
“Senior Sister Mu fought him fiercely. The pavilion was destroyed, and Liu Rulong told Senior Sister Mu that he had killed you and fed your body to the dogs… wuwu… After hearing this, Senior Sister Mu seemed to go mad, her strength surged, and after driving Liu Rulong away, she fainted.”
Xue Ziyan’s face was tear-streaked as she choked out, “She has been in a coma for seven days and nights. After waking up, she became like this; she has been crying but hasn’t said a word.”
“Tan Yun, you must come see Senior Sister Mu. She loved you too much; upon hearing that you died, she was too heartbroken, which is why she became like this.”
After hearing Xue Ziyan’s lament, tears of pain fell from Tan Yun’s starry eyes. He knew that Mu Mengyi had feelings for him, but he had never realized she loved him so deeply.
“I understand. Let me stay with her for a while, okay?” Tan Yun looked at Xue Ziyan with teary eyes.
