"That fool! How could he let them escape? We need to catch them now!"
Tan Yun's heart raced as he recognized the urgency in the voices. He tightened his grip on Yu Yunxi and urged her to keep up. The flames around them flickered and roared, threatening to engulf them at any moment.
“Faster!” he shouted, pushing himself to use the primordial divine step to its limits. They zigzagged through the inferno, avoiding the scorching heat and debris that fell from the cave's ceiling.
Behind them, the voices grew louder, filled with rage and determination. Tan Yun knew they had to escape or risk facing unimaginable danger.
As they navigated the labyrinth of flames, they stumbled upon a narrow passageway that seemed to lead to safety. Without hesitation, Tan Yun steered Yu Yunxi toward it, hoping it would offer a reprieve from their pursuers.
Just as they entered the passage, a shadow loomed behind them. A figure emerged from the flames, both a man and a woman, their faces twisted in anger.
“You can’t escape!” the man yelled, his voice echoing ominously.
Tan Yun felt a surge of fear, but he quickly focused on the path ahead. With a burst of energy, he activated his divine consciousness, trying to sense any traps or obstacles that lay in their way.
“Keep moving, Yu Yunxi!” he urged, as they sprinted deeper into the narrow corridor. The heat from the cave began to lessen, but the sound of their pursuers grew ever closer.
Suddenly, Tan Yun noticed a faint glow ahead. It was a light that promised safety—a glimmer of hope in the darkness. He pushed himself harder, urging Yu Yunxi to do the same.
“Just a little further!” he encouraged, feeling the adrenaline coursing through his veins.
As they approached the light, Tan Yun could see that it led to a larger chamber. The air was cooler, and the flames had receded, offering them a brief moment of relief.
However, he knew they couldn't rest yet. They had to find a way to defend themselves or escape entirely before the man and woman caught up to them.
“Let’s hide for a moment,” he whispered to Yu Yunxi, pointing to a shadowy alcove in the chamber. They quickly slipped into the shadows, hearts pounding in their chests as they listened for any signs of their pursuers.
The voices echoed closer and closer, filled with frustration. “They must be around here somewhere! Keep looking!”
Tan Yun held his breath, praying they wouldn’t be found. If they wanted to survive, they needed to think strategically and use their surroundings to their advantage.
He glanced at Yu Yunxi, who looked equally terrified yet resolute. In that moment, he knew they had to rely on each other if they were to overcome the dangers ahead.
“Whatever happens, stay close to me,” he whispered, determination igniting in his chest.
With that, they prepared for what lay ahead, ready to face whatever challenge would come their way.
“You filthy humans dared to kill my daughter; I will make sure you have a miserable end!”
Holding Yu Yunxi's hand, Tan Yun fled while releasing his divine consciousness toward the back at high speed.
In the distance of three hundred thousand celestial miles behind them, two Death God Faced Spiders, each towering at three hundred thousand feet and entirely red in color, were chasing after them.
Tan Yun immediately recognized that both Death God Faced Spiders were Ancestral Sage Beasts at the seventh level, and their speed was at least twice that of his!
“Tan Yun, what should we do? Their speed is too fast!” Yu Yunxi's expression was anxious, and Tan Yun felt the same.
“Don’t be afraid; if we can’t escape, we’ll fight them!”
After saying that, Tan Yun continued to fly with all his might.
Half an hour later, the two Death God Faced Spiders were already a hundred thousand feet behind Tan Yun.
“If I were to deal with one Death God Faced Spider, it would be a life-and-death struggle; dealing with two at the same time leaves no chance of survival.”
Thinking of this, Tan Yun decided to refrain from fighting for the time being.
