Looking at the seventh princess's small face, she was filled with confusion and curiosity.
"Where did he go?" she murmured to herself, bending down to pick up the Ancestral Ring.
As she examined the intricate designs on the ring, a sense of nostalgia washed over her. She remembered the first time she met Huyan Yingfeng, his confident demeanor, and the warmth in his eyes.
"Why did he leave so suddenly?" she questioned softly, her heart feeling a strange pang of loss.
Tan Yun, sensing her emotions, spoke up, "He has important matters to attend to, but he will return. The Ancestral Ring is a token of his trust."
The seventh princess looked up at Tan Yun, her eyes wide with surprise. "You mean… he trusts me?"
"Yes," Tan Yun nodded, "It signifies a bond between you two. He wouldn’t leave it behind if he didn’t value your connection."
The seventh princess’s heart fluttered at his words, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.
"I’ll be sure to take care of it!" she declared, clutching the ring tightly in her hand.
Tan Yun smiled, pleased with her determination. "Remember, the journey ahead will be challenging. But with the Ancestral Ring and your own strength, you will overcome any obstacles."
With newfound resolve, the seventh princess straightened up, ready to face whatever came her way.
"Thank you, Tan Yun. I won’t let Huyan Yingfeng down," she promised, her voice filled with conviction.
Tan Yun nodded approvingly, knowing that the seventh princess was destined for greatness.
“N-no.” The seventh princess shook her head, her words insincere.
Soon, her expression softened as she gracefully walked towards Tan Yun and said softly, “He deserved to die for all the evil he did. Don’t be sad; once someone is dead, they cannot come back to life.”
“Mm.” Tan Yun let out a long sigh. Thinking of the countless subordinates who had tragically died in the Elysium Sect, how could his hatred be resolved by just killing Huyan Yingfeng?
“Tan Yun, thank you for saving me.” The seventh princess lifted her head and looked at Tan Yun’s handsome face, sincerely saying, “You are the first person in this world who risked everything to save me.”
“Can we be friends?”
Tan Yun nodded, “I would be honored to be friends with the seventh princess.”
“It is I who should feel honored.” After saying this, the seventh princess smiled sweetly, very charmingly.
Then, her delicate brows furrowed slightly, and she asked in confusion, “Tan Yun, when we first met, your hair wasn’t like this. Why is it white now? Did you encounter something unsolvable?”
“I do have many unsolvable problems, but my hair turned white not because of them,” Tan Yun said. “It’s because I delved into the alchemical arts, magic treasures, symbols, and techniques.”
“Oh, so you understand the four arts now?” the seventh princess asked.
“I know a little about them,” Tan Yun said honestly. “To be frank, I had a selfish reason for saving you.”
“I heard that your father emperor loves you very much and built the Phantom Vision Divine Pavilion for you. I long to ascend it and meet my family in the Lower Universe.”
“So...”
Before Tan Yun could finish his sentence, a hint of disappointment flashed in the seventh princess's eyes, but she quickly returned to normal. “So you saved me. Don’t worry; I will fulfill your conditions.”
“Thank you very much.” Tan Yun expressed his gratitude with his gaze.
“Tan Yun, I want to know, if you didn’t have a purpose in saving me, would you have stepped in to save me if you saw me being chased?” the seventh princess asked.
“I would,” Tan Yun replied without hesitation. “As long as it’s the righteous side being chased, even if it’s a stranger, I will not turn a blind eye to life.”
“I believe you. Hearing you say this makes me feel much better,” the seventh princess said, a smile gracing her stunningly beautiful face.
“Thank you for understanding, princess.” Tan Yun clasped his fists. “I still don’t know your name, princess.”
